Let us assume -- generously -- that Osama bin Laden was at least a recipient of US aid back then. Now let us say that as a good Muslim, he turned against US. Why not advertise it ? What does he has to lose ? Nothing. But what does he stands to gain ? Plenty. He can rightly said that he -- along with thousands of other mujahedeens -- worked with the US to rid Muslim lands of one infidel, and that it was time to rid Muslim lands of the other infidel. His allegiance to Islam and Muslims would trump any negative opinions of him turning against the US. Muslims everywhere would lionize him even more than what he is today.

here comes the Islam discussion, do you honestly think that they did it all in the name of islam? had it been the case, there are many supposed islamist groups here who would be continuously killing any non muslim they encounter,if getting rid of infidels ever really was the case then there are plenty of indigenous infidels to get rid of before even proceeding for US.
and who says they didnt advertise it? you havent been paying attention lately it seems, the ones who lionize him are on the run themselves.
