And if the Italian marines shot innocent people they do not deserve anything better either.

And the courts will decide whether they are guilty or not and NOT the government.

Sorry what I meant was India and Italy has a treaty where sentenced prisoners will be repatriated to their home country, where they will under go their remaining sentence, but would be able to meet their family members and stuff like that.

I will check up on this info which you have mentioned, but really i have never heard the state/central govt releasing a accused after he has been convicted by the SC.
God why dont they teach this in the first year of law school.

I don't know which law school youngo to but it is taught in 9th social science.. under power of executive branch of the govt.... Plus, he/she no longer accused after conviction, they become convicts... ther have been huge scandals regarding this practice.. on top of memory, one in 1950s that lead to abolition of jury system i India, veerappan scandal, and recently ltte killers of rajiv gandhi....

OT- India should put a case on sailors which is punishable by death. So, italy can't deport them after their sentence and will be forced to give them asylum. It would be worth for sailors too?

Let these drug smugglers be tried (if at all they were carrying drugs or were framed for it; it isn't that difficult to take 20 people internationally).

We must lend a hearing ti the 20 accused in case Italians are trying to get their marines released using this as a tactic.

Never judge a book by its cover.

But we must not let go off our stand.

But thats normal human behavior. If i would be marine and shot someone who i thought is a threat and then comes out was just fishermen...i would also try to not brag about it and go.

But that was not also a serious issue.
We dont blame Marines.That was their duty to protect ship.When this happened if they come and surrender and also if they apologized for their mistake things would have been way better than this.
But in here your politicians reckless jingoistic attitude took a great toll in this case.In turn they provoked our media and also The Supreme Court .Their actions narrowed our room for a concession.
