Heart is the engine in the body that pumps fresh "oxygenated" blood across the body nourishing the body parts.
For far as our human history remembers men always connected heart with life. When the heart beats it means you are healthy. When it stops to beat you die

However , medical science has now reached a point where under severe circumstances doctors are not afraid to try new Medical exploration. One such measure involved trying to remove Heart from the Human body , and then placing a artificial pump in the body. The blood would be flowed continuously without a beat (no heart beat simulation). Scientist tried out the procedure on Cows , and observed 15-20 time and every time when the Animal would wake up from sleep , they would eat , breath , act normally even when they had no physical heart.

Finally they attempted the trials on humans , and they were successful

What does such process means for medicine , for one our knowledge and fundamental understanding of many processes of Human Biology change. Becasue doctors base their diagnosis a lot on the pulse and heart beat

With the continuous blood flow approach most of these diagnostic techniques do not work which presents a challenge for doctors once they use the heart removal technique.

In most cases the patient 's artificial blood flow device is connected to outside source which they carry in a bagpack

It would not be a surprise in future the energy source could be embedded in body much like the Iron Man's bionic heart

Richard B Cheney, former Vice President of the US is still living with donor's heart (transplanted)
The longest survivor recorded had 33 years of life on a donated heart.

Continuous flow system , you don't get heart disease

I dont think its practical in long run.
