Do you have any details of the contract? Who will extract the oil etc.? It would be very good to know what the terms and conditions are to Exxon's contract. This has been going on very secretively. Suddenly we are reading and hearing about this discovery out of the blue.

This is an exploration contract no extraction there will be bidding for extraction contract.

ExxonMobil enters Pakistan with the assignment of 25% working interest in offshore Indus Block G on May 28, 2018.

Prime Minister graced the occasion with his presence during the signing ceremony which was held in the Prime Minister Office along with representatives of ENI, OGDCL and PPL as joint venture partners (working interest of 25% each).

DGPC and GHPL representatives as regulator and offshore licensee, respectively, also attended the meeting and signed the Assignment document.

Yes but all that tells us is Exxon is 25% co-owner in exploration rights in block G indus. Nothing there tells us that they have discovered huge reserves. Having exploration rights and discovering oil are not exactly the same thing. You may or you may not find any oil. Where is the primary source that tells us Exxon have hit massive oil reserves other than Abdullah Haroon's comment.

Reading these reports one gets the impression that a huge discovery has been made. We can only be sure after the drilling. We will have to wait for the drilling to happen.
