Two entirely different things

In Punjabi, 'Charda' (where the sun rises) means East, 'Lehnda' (where the sun sets) means West.. We use 'Pahar' (Mountain) for North and 'Dak(h)an' for South.. East/Charda Punjab and West/Lehnda Punjab are geographical terms with no ethnopolitical undertones. "Lar au Bar Yo Afghan" , on the other hand, is purely an ethnopolitical slogan used by Pashtun nationalists on both sides of the border to reject Durand line.

Oh Bhai... Indian Punjab call itself charda while Pakistani Punjab lehnda. Whatever these words meant before doesn't matter. Today, and since 1947 it means Indian Punjab and Pakistani Punjab.

By the way the way you define these two words by literal meaning. Do you even know what lar o bar means ? Lar mean below bar mean above. These words also means the one above hidnokush and below hindukush.

And don't even start me on the misuse of lar o bar by Pashtoon nationalists. I will share videos here of mainstream media persons, actors, from Punjab who still keep saying charda or lehnda aiko e Hy bs lakeery Hy bemaini..

don't like him, most of Pakistan hates him, pakhtun, Kashmir, south Punjabis, north Punjab have no love for him either because of historical bad blood its only secular parts of Lahore where tiny bit of Punjabi nationalism is taking hold (it has its reason and to some extent, I think it's important, may even help Pakistan) and because it some may not hate him but most certainly no one loves the man

bhai ethnic groups meh pyaar hamesha rah tah hai, Baloch, Sindhi, pakhtun, Punjabi all will have a soft spot for ethnic kins and that's expected, as long is it doesn't negatively affect our country that's beautiful - lar o bar is good
but casually using foreign nations for political gains will attract criticism - In Ajk PMLN candidate said how "will seek Indian help if administration fail to corporate" - didn't he get a lot of flack? people were cursing the hell outta him
this is of course not as extreme but along the same line- no one appreciates use of foreign countries in domestic politics

Last time during protests called by PTi the CM of KPK brought the provinces police along with the protestors to conquer and lock Islamabad down. Something similar is being planned it seems again but with more bloodshed.

Populism has always depended on extracting maximum out of ethnic and sectarian fault lines in the country.

Chief Minister of the province has made his intentions clear just like governor of Punjab. The same tactics which helped Bhutto and Mujib are back with handsome and cute faces.
