In an interview on Army Radio, Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz was asked why Israel was hiding its ties with Saudi Arabia.

JERUSALEM - An Israeli cabinet minister said on Sunday that Israel has had covert contacts with Saudi Arabia amid common concerns over Iran, a first disclosure by a senior Israeli official of such contacts.

In an interview on Army Radio, Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz was asked why Israel was hiding its ties with Saudi Arabia.

Steinitz replied: "We have ties that are indeed partly covert with many Muslim and Arab countries, and usually (we are) the party that is not ashamed.

"It's the other side that is interested in keeping the ties quiet. With us, usually, there is no problem, but we respect the other side's wish, when ties are developing, whether it's with Saudi Arabia or with other Arab countries or other Muslim countries, and there is much more ... (but) we keep it secret."

You know Saudis have started to show their true face day by day. Israel is a occupier of the holy land of Islam with which I mean Masjid AL-Aqsa and becoming an ally with a regime that is holding Muslim holy mosque is not acceptable. This will greatly destroy Saudi reputation. Many people are now becoming against Saudis the change is visible on PDF even the members that use to advocate Saudis are now going silent because of Saudi actions.

Common interests = Iran
These are the common interest of the US and KSA.. but as we all know Usrael wants to capitalize on it, because it thinks that US interests are also its interests in the region..so they are sharing the same interests with KSA by transitivity through the common interests with the US.. nothing new, just much emphasis is put on it now, because Usrael wants to benefit from the middle Eastern mega projects now and in the future..Iran is just the scapegoat for these wishes..

It's good to see that Arab leadership has finally realised that Israel is a reality and is powerful enough to withstand any military adventure by Arab armies and militias whatsoever.

Ummah chumma lovers will be triggered by this news but state decisions have to be made on the basis of rationale rather than abstract and hollow notions of emotionalism and religious romanticism.

Saudi Arabia is under no obligation to become the flag bearer of the hypothetical ummah; the same applies to all Muslim states. The caliphate wet dream has been thrown for good into the dustbin of history by the great Mustafa Kamal Attaturk.

Saudi Arabia helps Israel, and Israel helps India. Pakistan should really step up its support for Iran and let the Saudis know who is packing nuclear weapons, and who is sitting in the desert with hijaabs on. We don't have to fall into these false paradigms that only benefit Israel and the US.

Israel doesn't need to "play" muslim countries against each other.

Step 1: Put together a team of kids to create fake accounts of Aljazeera, Alarabiya, or Gulfnews.

Step 2: Have AJ call Saud a loser or AlArabiya call UAE a loser or have Gulf News call Egypt a loser.

Step 3: Buy shares of Boeing/Lockheed/BAE/Airbus/Raytheon.

Step 4: Profit.
