Israel will help India deal with the tunnel terror threat along the Pakistani border

The Indian Defense Ministry is expected to purchase from Israel defense technology worth hundreds of millions of shekels after a terror tunnel was discovered along the Indian-Pakistani border. Due to India’s lack of experience with the tunnel terror threat, the Indian government immediately asked for advanced Israeli technologies: “It is exactly what we need.”

3 months ago, Indian forces discovered a terror tunnel on their side of the border with Pakistan. The tunnel that had a depth of 10 meters showed that it led to a hiding place in Pakistan and was dug with the intent of being used to implement terror attacks within the country. Following this development, India signed a deal with Israel for weapons and defense technology worth hundreds of millions of shekels.

After the discovery of the tunnel, the Indian authorities realized that they had no means to deal with the tunnel terror threat and that they needed to appraise their defenses based off this new threat. India, who strengthened ties with Israel last year, turned to the Israeli Defense Industry. They are expected to acquire Israeli systems to be utilized together with the construction of an advanced security barrier to be constructed along the border with Pakistan.

Indian Home Affairs Minister Shri Rajnath Singh recently visited Israel and was displayed with a long list of radar systems, censors for identifying underground traffic, observation systems, UAVs, and censors to locate tunnels. The Indian minister was also taken to the Gazan border, where he saw all of the operations of these systems in real time. “It is exactly what we need,” he stated after the tour.

The Israeli companies behind these developments are IAI, Elbit Systems, Rafael, Aeronautics, Blue Bird, Controp, RT Aerostats Systems, Magna and others. In the coming months, Israel experts will come to the Indian-Pakistani border in order to deploy the systems and to start training the Indian forces how to operate them.

India and Pakistan have a border dispute over the Jammu and Kashmir regions that dates back decades. The conflict has already led to 3 wars on the continent and once, it even brought the two countries close to a nuclear war. The two countries deploy hundreds of thousands of troops in the disputed region especially along the tense border between the two countries.

Can't help but agree with you, first thing we need to get out of the way is term used here, 'terror tunnel', is it something about the soil?

Now to get to logistics and what not, first of all, are we sure geographical make up is similar in Gaza and Indian border? The ones in Indian border seem to be short in length, and not require reinforcements, so it's more like passage ways, why would you spend hundreds of millions of dollars for so called 'detection' equipment that doesn't even work?

They can just use drone surveillance in the general area. There is no 'tunnel detection' equipment Israel has. It can't detect tunnels on the border with Gaza. And has recently proposed a 'wall project' along the border around Gaza, because it has no technology to detect them. And Palestinians already warned, any effort inside the border to make buffer zone will be rejected, and Israeli forces will be targeted if they try it. So India is just wasting money, on technology not supported by logic nor evidence.

Now another thing, what is 'terror' about a strategic tunnel used to preemptively attack Israeli forces before they launch ground invasion? Can these idiotic and bigoted people give one example where any tunnel by Hamas was used to target civilians? Yet, if you look up, Nahal Oz Hamas attack, you can see the tunnel leads into an Israeli military base, and there is visual evidence of such. Do they think being Muslim or rebellious against an occupation makes it a 'terrorist act'? Are these stupid aware of the consequences of stoking religious tension? Do they see people as not entitled to their rights of self determination because of their religious background? I'm an atheist, and I don't even see it that way ....

In Israel, when it comes to their nation, they all stand together like a fortress; from someone the age of 18 to 80, all are warriors.

Anyone suffering from profound radioactive poisoning will be easy to spot and therefore arrested for interrogation and information.
