Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) will supply its latest radars to South Korea for integration into the country’s new airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft.
The move is part of an ongoing collaboration between Korean Air and L3Harris Technologies to supply Seoul with modernized planes capable of detecting enemy aircraft, ships, vehicles, missiles, and other incoming projectiles.
L3Harris has proposed a Global 6500 model equipped with Israeli-made radars to direct fighters in counter-attacks.
According to a report by Aju Business Daily, South Korea mainly relies on foreign early warning systems, as attempts to develop them domestically have been largely unsuccessful.

IAI Family of Radars

Local media outlets have not specified which Israeli radar would be integrated into the South Korean AEW&C planes.
The Ground Moving Target Indication and Synthetic Aperture Radar (GMTI/SAR) is among the company’s most in-demand radar systems, as they deliver real-time imagery at standoff range.
It is reportedly suitable for surveillance, target acquisition, protection of strategic assets, and anti-terrorism missions.
IAI also produces missile warning radars that can simultaneously detect incoming missiles, such as infrared-guided MANPADS (man-portable air-defense system) from multiple sources.
According to the company, its missile warning radars in Missile Approach Warning System configuration have a nearly 100 percent detection rate and an “extremely low” false alarm rate.

The image shows a 360 rotating AESA. From the looks of it, this is a SAR radar. Can you post the images of the EW radar too? Or is this one radar going to perform both functions, which I doubt it can do.

. . . .
Didn't they lose put to E-7 Wedgetail before?

At any rate they shouldve got Phalcon in the first place. There's a reason why America didn't get them until very recently and even then it was because it was too expensive to mate existing Sentry radar to newer plane
