TEL AVIV - Israel has acknowledged that Kashmir is an occupied territory, accusing European Union of imposing double standards on different territories.
The EU has announced a plan to impose labelling on goods produced in Jewish settlements on occupied land. The EU does not recognise Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights, lands it captured in the 1967 Middle East war.
The EU says the labelling policy aims to distinguish between goods made inside the internationally accepted borders of Israel and those made outside.
“This is a discriminatory policy,” said Israeli Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz, responding to EU’s stance, adding that the EU labelling is not enforced in other places of occupation, such as northern Cyprus, Western Sahara, Kashmir or Tibet.
Israeli ministers have cast the EU’s plans as akin to a boycott of Israel, regarding it as little different to the boycott, sanctions and divestment (BDS) movement that Palestinians - who seek a state on occupied land including the West Bank and East Jerusalem - have advocated in recent years.
Some EU countries already affix labels to Israeli goods, differentiating between those from Israel and those, particularly fruits and vegetables, that come from the Jordan Valley in the occupied West Bank. If the Commission goes ahead on Wednesday, all 28 member states would have to apply labels.

To be fair the Minister does not specify who he believes to be the occupiers but one can deduce he means Pakistan and "Azad" Kashmir.

South Asians seem to missing the point of his statements though- it is about their claim on Palestine and how he feels that Israel is being unfairly treated by the global community on that topic.

There has to be a sense of moral responsibility for someone to admit he is an occupier of a region beyoind the local peoples will. Neither Israel nor India is willing to admit this and their moral bankruptcy can be seen from their stand.

agree, but in the context of the statement from Israel, it is a bilateral dispute between India and Pakistan.

and with where they're located, right in the middle of islamic hell, don't think India figures high on their foreign policy priorities anyway, to Israel, it's the US and their immediate neighborhood (all of which is hostile) that matters most.

They were specifically talking about labelling exports from those occupied places. And we all know that Pakistani kashmir doesn't export anything except for human resources which can't be labelled while as Indian occupied kashmir is popular world over for it's exports like paper machie, shawls, carpets, saffron and lot many items.
So they were only talking about Indian occupied kashmir.
