I have no questions on the motivation and rationale on the part of Hamas. All I am saying is that if you go down this path there are potential consequences. One path is that Israelis do not take any prisoners out of combatants

Second, Palestinian National Authority had not declared a war on Israel. In fact, it can't as it has no Army or Navy. This is like someone intruding into my house and when I fire at him in self-defense, claiming that he is a soldier of Fortunistan and Fortunistan has just declared a war on me and my house. Nobody will recognize Hamas as a 'Navy' of Palestinian National Authority.

Actually, they are. Civilians can be combatants, legal or illegal.

A 'civilian' is a person who is not a SWORN member of a formal military. But he can be a combatant, legal or illegal.

A legal combatant is someone who adheres to the accepted ethics, conducts, and rules of war. He does not have to be a formally sworn-in member of a military.

As someone who actually served, I do not 'try'. I know.

IDF is doing far bigger war crimes. They just bombed a hospital just imagine.

But this particular video is not a war crime. Hamas fighters had initiated their attack and were trying to enter through sea. They were armed and could swim to the shore. Hamas fighters were set for one-way trip. There was no way hamas fighters would have let themselves be arrested without a fight. They were in do or die mission, there was no room for surrender or arrests. So let's stop making non-issues a issue as this puts the spot light away from major crimes Israeli forces are committing.
