Iran & Saudi Arabia saber-rattling: Who would prevail in all-out war?
"With President Donald Trump, there is an opportunity for a new international alliance in the region and a major strategic plan to stop the Iranian threat," Lt. Gen. Gadi Eisenkot, chief of staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) told the paper. "We are ready to exchange experiences with moderate Arab countries and exchange intelligence to confront Iran."

When asked whether Israel has recently share intelligence with Saudi Arabia, Eisenkot responded by saying: "We are ready to share information if necessary. There are many common interests between us..."

He also said that Iran is the "biggest threat to the region," Haaretz reported. He said that Tel Aviv and Riyadh are in full agreement about Iran's intentions, noting that Israel and Saudi Arabia have never fought each other.

Eisenkot also said that Israel's security situation has never been better than it is today, claiming that is why "we are highly regarded by the moderate countries in the region." He went on to accuse Tehran of trying to destabilize the region by building weapons factories and supplying advanced arms to terrorist groups throughout the Middle East.

"Iran seeks to take control of the Middle East, creating a Shi'ite crescent from Lebanon to Iran, and then from the Gulf to the Red Sea," Eisenkot said, when asked about Iran's intended goal. "We must prevent this from happening."

The IDF chief also stressed that Israel has no intention of launching an attack on Hezbollah in Lebanon. "We see Iranian attempts at bringing about an escalation, but I don't see a high chance for this at the moment," he said.

Eisenkot's interview marks the first time that an Israeli chief of staff has been interviewed by a media outlet in Saudi Arabia. The two countries do not have diplomatic ties with one another. Eisenkot's remarks come despite the IDF chief saying in August 2015 that Iran was not the biggest threat to Israel. Instead, he said that Hezbollah and Hamas were the most immediate threats to Israeli security.

Nothing new, House of Saud are traitors from very start. They are nothing more then sell outs just to keep power in their hands.
They will bow down and kiss Isrealis feet , if it comes to that.

Wonder why Arab spring does not come in Saudi Arabia.

Wonder why Arab spring does not come in Saudi Arabia.
Spot on.

But there was an important part in the guy's statement that Iran is trying to create a Shi'ite crescent.

This sentence has come out of some persons' mouth already. Abdullah the Jordanian king and Saudi guys.

Iran's revolution was not a sectarian one because it is favored by Sunni masses all around the world. BTW Iran will not drop Quds and Palestine despite this alliance that existed for decades

Why am I tagged?
You denied it in an other thread, so here we are. Watch the brothers in arms

IDF chief: Israel willing to share intelligence with moderate Arab states

Eisenkot gives rare interview to Saudi newspaper, calling for international coalition against Iran, adding Jerusalem and Riyadh 'in complete agreement' about Tehran.

IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot gave a rare interview to a Saudi newspaper, calling for an international coalition against Iran.

"You can see the Iranian plan is to control the Middle East from Iran through Iraq and from there to Syria and Lebanon, and through another path in the Gulf from Bahrain to Yemen and the Red Sea. We must stop that from happening in the region," Eisenkot told the London-based Elaph in an interview published on Thursday.

"There's an opportunity to form a new international coalition in the region with President Trump. We need to carry out a large, comprehensive strategic plan to stop the Iranian threat," he added.

In a surprising statement, Eisenkot said the IDF was willing to share intelligence with the moderate Arab states, including Saudi Arabia.

"We're willing to exchange information with the moderate Arab nations, including intelligences, in order to deal with Iran," Eisenkot said. "We're willing to share information if the need arises. There are many shared interests between us and Saudi Arabia."

The IDF chief said he was hopeful by declarations made by US President Donald Trump about the need to stop Iran's missile program and its entrenchment in Syria and Iraq.

"On this matter, there is complete agreement between us and Saudi Arabia, which has never been an enemy we fought or that fought us," he said.

"When it concerns the Iranian axis, there is complete agreement between us and them. I participated in a military chiefs meeting in Washington, and when I heard the Saudi representative speak, I found that his views about Iran were completely aligned with mine," he added.

Eisenkot talked about the involvement of the two superpowers—the United States and Russia—in Syria's civil war and the complexities it brings with it. "The US is trying to strengthen and support the moderate Sunni axis without putting boots on the ground. On the other hand, there is a Russian policy that only considers Russian interests in Syria. The Russians made an alliance with (Syrian President) Assad, Iran and Hezbollah, while at the same time allying themselves with the Americans in the war against ISIS," he said.

The IDF chief stressed Israel's policy in Syria is of non-intervention. "The claims we're aiding the Nusra Front and its ilk in the Golan are baseless. They're our enemies, just like ISIS," Eisenkot said.

Israel, he said, demands that Hezbollah, Iran and the Shiite militias leave Syria. "We won't allow Iranian presence. We've warned them against building factories or military bases" in Syria, he stressed.

The IDF chief said Israel had no intention of initiating a war against Hezbollah, "but we will not accept any strategic threat on Israel," further noting he didn't think escalation was very likely.

KSA will be stupid idiot to take any intel from enemies of islam

Allah help house of Saud and give them wisdom. They do need some sense knocked into them.

Pakistan must play its role, forcefully if needed be like a bouncer in a night club, to keep the fighting teenagers apart. Let the enemy of Islam not take advantage of the infighting among the Muslim world any further.

They need you to stop meddling in their affairs, and stop supplying them with arms and ammo.
Oh really?
What is your proof about our support for Yemeni army?

BTW even if we have supported them , it is not yet happened , in fact we have supported oppressed Muslims against mass murderers and thugs of UAE/KSA. Although due to land/sea blockade on Yemen, no one can supply them except for their own industries that had old China-Soviet made missiles. Scuds specifically and Chinese C-801 anti ship missiles.

Again, even if we were supplying them, you cannot make it an excuse for your mass murder in Yemen and don't forget your meddling in Syria and Iraq. You supplied rebels and terrorists, however Al-Qaeda in Yemen still owes it's strength to your coalition.

What exactly is the dispute between Saudi Arabia and Iran we would never find out.

It will become one of those myths and dinner table conversation.

Sad for the region though. Both are rich enough to develop without going to war.

Strange world this

There is no Myth. It is straight forward. Iran and it's proxy wars, be it Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, or Syria.
