So not only Israel's Iron Dome is actually useless against enemy fire, now it is replacing that very fire by shelling Israeli cities.

IDF confirms that the Iron Dome battery deployed near the southern city fired to intercept what was believed to be a rocket, but turned out to be a false alarm.
The Iron Dome anti-missile system in Eilat accidently fired interceptor missiles on Tuesday morning, prompting fears that rockets were fired into city.
The Israel Defense Forces confirmed later that it was a false alarm.
Residents reported hearing a number of explosions at around 9:00 A.M., which turned out to be the Iron Dome's interceptor missiles.
