Islamophobia: Tony Abbott urged to speak out against attacks on Muslims

Tony's isn't popular these days and raising the threat level and joining America was a distraction. But the debate on ABC was funny. Most of the Islamic scholars blamed Australia for the recent events.
yup, thats what we were missing,,lets add fuel to fire. retaliation is just around the corner.

You and the people who thanked your post are bigots. It's not Islam or any other religion that is the problem, rather it's people like you.

I see no problem with this. Muslims don´t fight extremism. They harbor it. They allow it. Its only a matter of time until people start to get pissed off.

.
their Muslim citizens enjoy special status in their laws vs. non Muslims. They should be treated likewise in non Muslim countries.
unfortunately non-Muslim leaders donot think like you.

2 days ago Muslim people from mosque attacked our procession. Even police afraid to act against them due to votebank politics.

.
I disagree. Islam as a whole announced to be at war with the world ad teh world is sick off it. People tend to don´t take risks. If muslims don´t want face this hate, start to gight islamists and kill them.

Many Muslims have died fighting extremists and many to this day, including myself continue to fight them. It would be helpful if you back us and not blame our faith, as that makes our job that much harder.

Practical examples are many, the present air campaign against ISIS is being led by Arab states, with US help. Arab states are killing religious extremists.

you should update your self with Arab states taking part in recent US lead bombings on ISIS-
its not wise to toe the same line forever-

You do realise bro talking to the likes of Shuntmaster and Blood is a complete and utter waste of time. Their posts talk of every Muslim being evil and that none can be trusted. Their thinking is no different from the SS squads of old, and any other xenophobic, bigoted, ignorant entity or organisation, that has looked to demonise a race, faith etc for their own political ends. Thankfully they are just voices over the net, which in itself brings out the worst in people, and rarely the best.

hahahahahahahahahaha. I so knew that you cant answer my question, how can you? youre one of those bigots i often come across that sure are a source of laughter for me.first of all welcome to the club of people who have been judging Islam based on the acts of factions that once used to fulfill the interests and aspirations of USA.
your incompetence to bring up anything from the scriptures we follow only depicts how ignorant you are.youd believe just about anything youre fed to believe.
did I even say its a race? are you dumb? or are you too illiterate to read what i Just said?
I pity your limited thinking.I pity how you comprehend the whole situation. so youve judged us from this fake bullshit decapitation from ISIS? here check this.its all debunked.

the irony of all this is Islam has now become a chewtoy for every idiot to torment, religion is a personal matter and it should remain so, nobody has the right to interfere with someone's faith.

the thing about ISIS and many other factions like Al Qaeda is that they were first created by USA to allow them to attain their interests and when the USA doesnt need them anymore they brand them terrorists, youre getting the dose of your own medicine,
had it not been the Invasion of Iraq back in 2003, this situation would've never arisen.blaming islam for the s**t you created is a tactic not new, been seeing this s**t for far too long.UN themselves testified that there aint no nukes in Iraq, yet you proceeded to bomb Iraq, this all is the aftermath of those events.
just like in afghanistan, your Osama Bin Laden was once a CIA agent and a hero in the west and later he was branded a terrorists, youre getting the dose of your own medicine, still there are many idiots who think that the muslims did 9/11.LOL.it was just a hoax to bomb afghanistan, DIDNT GO EXACTLY ACCORING TO PLAN DID IT?

they are all your own creation, stop being a victim of stereotypes and grow the f**k up,

oh and according to your logic if you oppress muslims living in your countries. then youre only giving justification to the those who oppress non muslims in muslim dominated areas.
youre no different than the ISIS terrorist both support killing and oppression of people of some specific religion.you cant think other than that,

What makes you think i would read the quran? How can i say it respectful, that this "book" has 0 importance for me?

As is aid myself, i don´t think security concerns allow us to make such judgements. What is dangerous gets destroyed. Its that easy.

it seems this guy knows Islam more than me,
now quote me a chapter from Quran or a hadith from Sahi bukhari that depicts that " Islam as a whole announced to be at war with the world" and if you cant get us the snippets to prove your words, then better Shut the F**K Up.
it aint the first time i came across your kind,

This seems to be the mindset of people like you:
"I know more about your religion than you or scholars of your religion because I read about it on an internet message board once. And any atrocities committed in the name of another religion are because the individuals are evil, but any committed in the name of Islam are because Islam is evil".

Talk about cognitive dissonance.

Existence of 50 Islamic States and demand for Sharia in non-Muslim countries by the minorities proves what? Words are cheap, only action matters.

If you have ZERO interest in Islam and Muslims, then it's safer to stay out of their affairs, if you aren't willing to understand the way some muslims act, then it's wise not to start wars with them, ignorance just breeds ignorance, violence breeds violence, and words like "destroying" are tough words and show resolute, but destroying ideas has always failed when these ideas aren't fought with ideas FIRST, if you think that saying "I hate muslims and islam" will make all the problems in the middle east go away, then you are in for a surprise but then again, some people just want to blame others and don't want to look at themselves, this goes to muslim radicals and non-muslim radicals and warmongers alike.

Sharia is a broad field and it's more than just chopping off hands, for example halal meat and interest free banking is not and shouldn't be controversial at all it doesn't show that sharia is "creeping", it should be a right and falls under "freedom to practice religion", can't call yourself a free nation and not allow people to practice their religions, hindus have the right to not be served meat, sikhs have the right to wear their head gears as long as these things are confined within the laws of a certain nation.

How can one fight your ideas with his ideas when he knows that if you get offended, he gets beheaded. If you want others to fight your ideas with their ideas, please drop the Blasphemy laws and tell your compatriots in the Free World to stop rioting and issuing Fatwas every time somebody insults Islam.

Every time you justify your religious laws to a non-Muslim and tell a non-Muslim how Sharia is better than any existing law, their fears get justified. They know that their way of life, their culture, their future is in danger. They know that they are under attack. Before preaching morality and secularism to the Free World please preach such stuff to those 50 nations.

Charity begins at Home.

Most muslim nations don't even practice sharia law, not sure what you are trying to imply by saying i'm justifying my religious laws to non-Muslims or that i'm better than you, it's not my point, you're saying that not I even if I thought I was better than you why would it trouble you? shouldn't it provide you with an opportunity to prove that you are actually better than me and not give you an opportunity to show that you are as nasty if not worse?

There are muslims who aren't born in Muslim nations and haven't been to muslim nations, aren't they entitled to laws of their nations, why should things happening in KSA be a burden to them is that fair is it fair for an Indian muslim to be scrutinized for things in Pakistan? and while I'm at it I think Kosovo, Senegal, Albania are way way better and more tolerant than Hindustan, maybe you should be looking at yourself, I'm not from a muslim nations, don't plan to live in 1, i'm proud of my non-Muslim nation which I was born in and all I grew up knowing, many muslims fought against white oppression here and died doing so, I condemn in my strongest terms oppression against minorities, in Pakistan, India, Australia, but do you? or is human rights abuses only condemnable when they are perpetrated by your perceived enemies?.

Australian jihadists fuelling Islamophobia

4a9f29920ba6e5e34bfe1638a4bef086.jpg

There is an old saying in Persian: it takes one fool to drop a stone in a well, and many wise men to bring it out. This proverb captures the Muslim experience in Australia.

There may be more than a 100 Australian Muslims fighting with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. In security circles, these people are assessed as high risk for Australia. Their militant ideology and practical knowledge of weapons use could pose a threat to Australian society upon their return. But the risk they pose is actually far greater than the immediate security threat. They threaten the very social fabric that has fostered Muslim communities. They put Australia's tradition of multiculturalism at risk and offer fodder to Islamophic commentators who see all Muslims as terrorists at heart.

There is an old saying in Persian: it takes one fool to drop a stone in a well, and many wise men to bring it out. This proverb captures the Muslim experience in Australia. There is no doubt that some Australians feel uncomfortable with the Muslim presence. Muslim traditions, habits, and beliefs are often seen as alien and confronting. The Howard government tried to capitalise on this anti-Muslim bias to bolster its position by looking and sounding tough towards asylum seekers, generally from Muslim backgrounds. The under-current message was simple: Muslims are governed by un-Australian principles and an inferior value system. This was a blatant political gimmick. But it tapped into a vein that has proven too rich to be ignored by subsequent governments. The latent Islamophobia presents a challenge to Muslims in Australia. And many Muslims have risen to it.

Muslim organisations have learnt plenty about the need for proactive engagement. In the past, Muslim organisations were generally concerned with their own community affairs. These were inward-looking organisations/communities. They often reacted to events and external criticisms about their beliefs and traditions, feeling dejected with accusations and pointed questions that implied a link between Islam and terrorist activities. The sense of victimhood was a defining feature of Australian Muslims.

But in the last decade, many old and new Muslim organisations have tried to get on the front foot. They have come to realise they will never be taken seriously by the broad public, let alone the tabloid press, if they limit their public activity to issuing statements to deny the presumed link between Islam and terrorism, and protesting Muslims' innocence. Muslim organisations have tried to offer alternative views and set the agenda, rather than wait to be called by a frantic journalist on an urgent story. Islamic leaders now engage with NGOs, policy and opinion-makers, as well as government departments and the police to help reset relations between Muslims and the broader community. Their message is simple but powerful, Australian Muslims are part of the solution.

This proactive engagement, however, has caused a stir within the Muslim communities and presented the Muslim leadership with a new and unlikely challenge. This one emanates from the fringes of Australian Muslims, and draws on suspicions of the government agenda to stigmatise any Muslim organisation that engages with government agencies. As a result, Muslim organisations are often forced to work on two very different levels. On the one hand, they work with a range of government and non-government organisations to bolster social harmony and a sense of shared purpose. On the other, they work at the community level to dismiss allegations of betraying Islam. This is a daunting task and they look all the guiltier to their radical critics for trying to deny such outrageous allegations.

This is where the fool and wise men analogy comes in. A few misguided Muslims who choose the path of adventurism and break the law to join the ranks of ISIL undo years of hard work by Islamic community organisations. They perpetuate an image of Islam as fanatical and bloodthirsty, damaging the Muslims' reputation in Australia. Ultimately, they play into the hand of Islamophobes who make life hard for the law-abiding Muslim citizens of Australia.

^^ Never our fault, not our fault we exterminated aborignals, not our fault we are intolerant towards immigrants and non-Whites, not our fault we are trying to implement a new "white Australia policy", 100 idiots from Australia going to Syria and Iraq shouldn't give anyone the ammunition to attack innocent people, but Australia is facing bigger problems than just 100 Australians in Syria and Iraq, Australia needs a reason to make and keep Australia white, and Australia has a scapegoat.

.
Just like the Muslims, never your fault, after all you are the Perfect People, must be the fault of those Jews, Hindus, Christians, Buddhist.

.
This happened a day or so ago in Australia, a Muslim woman who was attacked in front of her child yet there are people who are condoning these actions against innocent women because "ISIS are doing worse", even more shocking we see Asians condoning it, just remember this could be your mother (far right racists are so stupid they usually mistake brown people to be the same).

Funny how all the non Muslims are bigoted, unlike of course the Muslims who are so pure.

Bigots are found everywhere, muslims can be bigoted and evil hearted as well no proof of the contrary anywhere, but 2 wrongs don't make a right as the cliche goes.
