What's new

Islamic State fears grow in Pakistan and Afghanistan

What is new in this? Already Existing militant factions announce their support for one who is hot in the news. Their threat doesn't increase or decrease with changing name. It is of same quantity unless IS's C&C with their leadership come to Pakistan.

.
THIS IS PAKISTAN not IRAQ.ISIS may be experienced in making so called Iraqi army laughing stock of entire world but here they face a well disciplined, well armed and well coordinated Pakistan Army.If they think they can carry out same stunts here they have another thing coming.

Agree completely. The time to start worrying is when ISIS get bamboozled in Syria and Iraq, those fighters will not be going back to their own countries... and with your porous borders, you can guess where they will all regroup.

First of all its not the role of army to fight terrorism its the role of police. From 2008 onwards our police has been unable to handle it,and in the beginning the operations were carried out by FC or police and if army was called for operation they were not given the proper mandate to exterminate and control these pests.
Now under the proper mandate you see the change taking place, the suicide atacks have drastically decreased, and those if any takes place ie tomorrows incident, the network behind it is quickly taken down as you can see the arrests after the blast most of the group members have been caught.

Our counter terrorism policy has always been reactionary instead of taking pro active steps to solve the problem before it even arises. Actually, even now I just do not see a coherent strategy to deal with effects of terrorism and radicalisation. Everyone knows which madrasahs churn out sectarian and "jihadi" propaganda, but the powers that be turn a blind eye to them. I trust the army, but I do not trust some of the higher ups sitting in the "establishment" who used these retards as pawns, the disturbing thing is, some are still being nurtured by these people.

So I really do not know if we as a nation are even ready for IS, when we can't even deal with our own home grown and nurtured friends who went rogue. This state of confusion continues unabated as the common man continues to bleed. Can someone please tell me what is even our counter terrorism policy? Because I just don't see it.

I blame Army for the death of 60 thousand innocent Pakistanis, they totally failed to secure our borders. and they created
Militants not police.

And now we are going to face new threat ISIS.

I don't see Pakistan in future any more. i always supported army but not any more.

Why don't Pakistan want to be a part of the great Islamic caliphate??

Because we are not Arabs we saw the loyalty of Arabs towards Othmans.

We have culture and history that is unmatched and no sand dweller can even come close to it.

Arabs are dishonourable people who sell very quickly and have no self respect, so why would we want to be part of Islamic Caliphate and especially that one which is lead by an Arab?.

No doubt you will get some south Asians who will think they are Arabs and will support that cause but they will be as successful as their historic figure Qasim, then there will be others who are proud of their heritage and will always reject the sand dwellers.

Chances of ISIS in Pakistan is zero but yes we should remain alert though

I doubt arab fighters will move to Pakistan. The only reason ISIS is successful is because the fighters are mainly Arabs,Chechens and Africans.

Well thats your opinion, and no army didnt create miltants it just forwarded the american support to them during soviet occupation.
Regarding ISIS its not gonna thrive here like it is doing in Syria or Iraq mainly because it is aa sunni organization which feeds off the hardships of sunni minority mainly in shia governed states but as you know Pakistan is already a sunni governed state so there is little chance for ISIS,unless ofcourse if it decides to change sects.
And its not exactly easy to undo a nuclear armed state with a professional standing army,so take my word for it that Pakistan is here to stay for a long long time to come.
You may have heard of a phrase "too big to fail", well Pakistan is exactly that :)

When whole villages are involved in anti state activities then i dont know who the state or army can call "it's own people"!!
Just ask the Indians what they did to villages which were involved in such activities just across the border but PA didnt even bomb these bas*****!

Bhai you are probably ill-informed. Army has been asking government to give them green signal for long time but both Zardari and Nawaz governments were more interested in looting rather than taking care of this issue. Even Zarb-e-Azab started by the pressure of army on this corrupt Nawaz government. Army, this time, did not want to take blame of bypassing government without the initiation of government itself.
