وعاقبة للمتقين
I recently wrote about the great hero and Islamic ruler of Kashmir, Sikander Butshikan 'the Breaker of Idols' on my blog Salvation-From-Hell dot c*m. But there is so little information available about him and the movement of the Islamic saint Hadrat Mir Muhammad Hamadani, son of Hadrat Sayyid Ali Hamadani (rahmatullah alaihim). Hindus usually hate these great Islamic heroes of ours such as Aurangzaib Alamgir, Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi, Ahmad Shah Abdali, and others. They are 'destroyers of Hindu temples and idols'. But from my research, the most zealous of the Hindu idol breakers was Sikander Butshikan of the Shah Mir dynasty in Kashmir. He did so purely out of religious zeal, and not simply to plunder wealth as was the case of the Ghaznavids and other Afghan rulers. So Sikander Butshikan was a true Islamic hero and warrior of Tawhid. We should have more awareness of him and his great service to Islam. May his soul rest in peace.
