Isis video shows murder of British hostage Alan Henning

what most muslim societies need is a same kind of revolution that european countries went through . a Renaissance.separation of mosque and society. I have many muslim friends from my medical college days, while most are cool ppl , one is so intolerant that he even said other muslims classmates are performing shirk by helping us hindus in our festivals. then he got sidelined and was called bin laden in his own hostel. can you blame other than him.

He is illusioned by saudi ideology and even keeps a Burj al dubai picture in his room as if he is an arab. he even says shias are non muslim. this is a story a MBBS student in my state Odisha. This intolerant wahabi ideology is spreading bcoz of Zakir Naik ( half wit idiot) in india. He says Bush is a terrorist . when asked about laden he says how can he say as he has not met him. As if he met Bush. there are many fans of Zakir in India . he is a doctor too. I am still wondering about his IQ and his followers.

Things will never change as a proportion of people in any given group be that a country, a religion, a school are generally just retarded, believe anything and will "go along" with whatever they are told. People like this in existence will eventually lead to the end of humanity no doubt, all it takes is 1-2% of a population to destroy it.

People like that guy you're talking about make me sick. We've had people on here I've had arguments with over things like that. Once I observed in Holi celebration last year in Brighton, another time it was yoga, both times someone on the other end was there ready to question my faith because of it. These types make me sick. And they are everywhere.

The reason for this is simple, we are a backward people, Islam tries it's best to tell it's followers to keep their egos at ground level at all times, yet most Muslims have theirs somewhere in the mountains and their reality is somewhere deep in an underground cave never to see the light of day.

I've ranted about this sort of thing for ages. First start we Muslims as individuals can make is to keep our ego where it belongs, on a leash. When it we let it wonder, we have a situation where Muslims feel they are better than everyone else, that their way of life is the only way of life and superior, and that as such they have a right to judge others, which in itself is a HUGE sin. British Muslims here, they think that their religion is all they need in life, too bad that their understanding of their religion is also severely limited, as a result, our youth don't follow the law and social norms, adults don't work outside of their own community and only ever follow laws and courtesy where it is enforced by others.

I've had massive rants at people in real life regarding all this, the response was ugly, but it was necessary to knock some sense into them.

Well, I was in Manchester Central Mosque today for eid prayer and the Imam and the people were really sad and condemned this act openly. Same was the mood in Salford mosque as well, home town of Alan.

No such comments in my one in London mosque. Then again, all they ever talk about in my one is raising money for the mosque. Even on 27th Ramadan, all they could talk about is raising money and waking half the neighbourhood with their shouting at 2 am.

Still, I feel the response from Muslims in this episode was better than before.

young people who have gone there to join the terrorists, their illusions would be short lived. Their love for the religious freedom would be met with a rude shock and in no time they would be missing the comfy life back in the UK. People high on first person shooting games or girls with disillusion with religious bigotry will cost them and their family along with the whole community a big deal. I hope you guys would be able to handle the backlash in a more passionate way. I would bow out of this discussion, godspeed to you guys !!!

I saw the first beheading video that came out of Iraq back in the 2000s, couldn't sleep for few days. His screams haunted me.

Well said, I completely agree and thanks for your well wishes, I hope we can come out of this with some dignity left.

Jungibaaz, I laud you for accurately identifying the symptoms yet you appear blind to the diagnosis...For further clarity, I would advise you to start with the 1st Kalma...

Religious discussions of this sort are banned in this forum, but let me just say that I disagree, as for the first kalma, I as a Muslim wish those are the last words I utter before I die, but I have no delusions about the rest of life, in my opinions I'm a polar opposite of the extremists.

I would advise that we not continue this debate here. If you would like I would gladly have a quality debate with you over PM.

These cowards usually troll online, they are very active on twitter. The only thing they can do is make fun of people's death while hiding behind internet anonymity.

I was hoping this wouldn't happen.

I haven't had tears roll down from my eyes in a while. But this time I literally cried upon hearing his death.

He was such a noble and gentle soul.

I hope ISIS suffer deaths. I hope they are bombed until not even the dust of their bones is left.

RIP Alan, friend, comrade, lover of humanity and brother.

I was hoping against all odds, they would let the guy go. :(

I hear many British Muslims are torn up about it.

I would have hoped this death could be a wake up call to Muslims everywhere but I am pessimistic. When our people have looked away as this group has indulged in heart-eating, rape, corpse desecration.. amongst other things, i doubt that the death of one more will make any difference.

Maybe the fact that our local Imams have been openly disobeyed by this group will give them more clarity in their messages. The holy king-makers have a personal reason to dislike IS now - maybe their hurt ego will make them do what their conscience should have done a long time ago.

Yes they are, but I won't make a slight difference to ISIS. They are currently carrying out the genocide of Kurds in Syria now.
