The Research and Analysis Wing (RA&W) is said to have revealed a conspiracy by Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI to eliminate Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone surviving terrorist behind the 26/11 strikes, Headlines Today reported.

The RAW is said to have intercepted a telephonic conversation that reveals a plan to kill Kasab, who is currently in the custody of the Mumbai Police Crime Branch.

The intelligence agency has revealed that ISI has sought gangster Chhota Shakeel's help to carry out the task. The intercepts were tracked to Bhuj in Gujarat.

MUMBAI: Mumbai police have said that terror groups have approached Dawood Ibrahim to kill Mohammad Ajmal Kasab, the lone terrorist caught alive
after the November 26 Mumbai attacks, said TV reports. ( Watch )

Sources from the intelligence agencies said that underworld don Chhota Shakeel, a close aide of Dawood Ibrahim, has been given a contract to kill Kasab. Shakeel is believed to be hiding in Pakistan with help coming from Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence.

According to an intelligence sources, the plot came to light on January 29 when a Research and Analysis Wing branch of Gujarat's Bhuj district intercepted a telephonic conversation from across the border. The matter has already been discussed at the January 10 National Security Council meeting. The information has been now handed over to the Mumbai police by the Centre.

An official.said Kasab’s death would mean there won’t be any evidence to pin Pakistan in the Mumbai attacks case.

I think it serves Indian interest more to kill Kasab and blame it on ISI. Since bringing Kasab in front of a Judge or independent media may cause unwanted embarrassment to Indian claims of him being from Pakistan or other hooters which RAW has worked so hard on to pin on Pakistan! He might speak or say things which the Indians may not want to hear, especially Pranab Mukher Ji and the RAW brigade!

If kasab gets killed, then India's biggest proof of Pakistani involvement will be done with.

Whatever allegations India makes after that can be easily refuted like they were in the past.

But killing Kasab will make the world believe ISI was behind Mumbai attacks,so they are screwed either way I guess.

What exactly is India waiting for? Bring him out on National television and let him open his mouth. After all, if he hails from Pakistan as claimed by India, he'd be fluent in Urdu and wouldn't give a SINGLE hint of "Hindi" influence in his language.

A confession to the entire world from Kasab would've been enough evidence for India and the rest of the world to blame Pakistan. So what's the hold up? Thought so.

Yes,India should bring him in front of the world media.Like in Bangladesh,the terrorists were brought forward before being executed.
People should know why these nutjobs killed so many people.And most important who ordered them to do that.I hope Indian govt.will do it soon.

What is it that you want to see in him if he is presented on television

weather he is a Pakistani - well the Pakistani Army has admitted to he being a Pakistani

and if this wasn't enough even the civilian Mohtarma Rehaman backed up the Army officers admission

do you want to know if he is involved in in the attack - well we have printed out the invitation cards to witness the joyous event that shall commence shorly

so why bother for TVs and interviews when for the first time Pakistan's military and civillan leadership have conceded to India's charges

of what use is belief without proof -

by killing Kasab the world would believe ISI is involved

but by letting Kasab live the world would have proof that ISI is invloved

so on any given Sunday, between "believe" and "proof", it is 1 "proof" that will harm the ISI far more than a million beliefs put together
