ISAF (NATO) Killed 3 Pakistani Soldiers @ Pak-Afghan Check Post (Again)

Pakistani PM warns against NATO intrusions
English.news.cn 2010-10-01 23:51:48

ISLAMABAD, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani told the parliament on Friday that Pakistan will consider other options if NATO continued intrusion into its sovereignty in future.

Pakistan says that NATO helicopters carried out three air strikes in its northwest tribal area of Kurrum Agency in a week, killing soldiers and civilians.

A NATO spokesman had defended the strikes and said that the action was taken after militants attacked an Afghan border post from the Pakistani side.

Pakistan lodged a formal protest with NATO in Brussels, calling for an end to such attacks in future, officials said.

"I want to assure you and the whole nation through this House that if intrusion into Pakistan's security is made, we will think of other options," said Prime Minister Gilani in the National Assembly after an opposition lawmaker raised the issue.

"Pakistan can in no way tolerate collateral damages by strikes inside Pakistan and will not allow anyone to interfere into our sovereignty and security," said the prime minister, warning that "If you (referring to NATO) do not explain it, compensate it or apologize it, we may consider other options too."

Owing to the planned withdrawal of some of the NATO troops starting next summer i don't think the US has the leverage to pressurize Pakistan to Launch a full fledge Military Assault in North Waziristan specially when the choppers coming in and killing our soldiers. Already theres a huge sense of outrage and furiousness over the intrusions among the higher ranked officers of the PA. Further the warning has been issued , it would be really interesting to see if the Nato carries on with the excersize of simillar sort , if it did it would not only lose a vital ally but also the sole Party which is and will act as a middle man between the taliban loyal to Mullah Omer & Haqqanis and Isaf forces which ultimately would help Nato to secure the minimum bargain which it would put up in the final game plan of the Afghan War...
I dont think PPPs leadership will lean towards the American demands in the light of some tough pressure from the PA's chain of command.

Unless Nato has some other objectives to pursue this war for the next two decades in the wake of Flase Flags in Europe as exposed in the form of terrorist attacks in France Germany & GB by the CIA's Cheif during his recent visit i dont think Nato will carry on with such an excersize of sending in Choppers into Pakistani Land and attacking our Manned Border Posts..!!!

Pakistan to consider other options if NATO strikes again: Gilani

* Prime minister says cooperation in war on terrorism doesn’t mean compromising on country’s integrity, sovereignty

* NATO must apologise for attacks

By Tahir Niaz

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Friday told the National Assembly that the government might consider other options if someone tried to interfere with the country’s sovereignty.

Responding to a point of order raised by Lt Gen (r) Abdul Qadir Baloch, the PM said, “If they (NATO) don’t apologise and remove our apprehensions, we may consider other options as well.”

He said cooperation in the war on terrorism did not mean compromising on national integrity and sovereignty. He said Pakistan is a responsible and nuclear state, adding that being political people, “we have lodged a civilised protest” with NATO headquarters over the force’s violation of the country’s air space”. Gilani added that he had also talked to Senator John Kerry on the issue and asked him to share credible and actionable information with Pakistani intelligence authorities.

Apology: He assured the nation that the government will consider every available option to stop any violation of Pakistan’s territory and if NATO did not apologise for the recent violations, other options could also be utilised.

The PM made it clear that any violation of Pakistani territory in anyway would not be acceptable and the government would not allow any power to violate security and sovereignty of the country.

Responding to the concerns raised by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s Mahtab Abbasi regarding promulgation of an ordinance, which authorised the law minister to transfer any corruption case from any accountability court to any newly-established accountability court, the PM said he would look into the matter. He said no ordinance could be promulgated without his advice, adding that he could not endorse a ‘wrong’. However, he said that he would look into the matter and rectify if something wrong had been done in this regard.

The PM said the government wanted a consensus on the new accountability law, which delayed its presentation in parliament, adding that if the government wanted to bulldoze the process in the committee concerned, it would have done that much earlier. He further said that currently there was no political prisoner in the country. He said the government believed in across-the-board accountability and not in political victimisation, adding that there was a minor difference between victimisation and accountability.

the current situation must be ideal for al-qaida. Let Pakistan and USA/NATO duke it out while they stay put safely. It's no secret drone strikes have disrupted their terror network, just the other day one of their commander in chief got wasted in a drone strike in NWA.

It's quiet possible that this entire thing is al-daida's elaborate plan. Attack NATO posts near the ****** border, flee using routes close to Pakistani posts, NATO in retaliation pursues them, closes in on them, shoots them down and end up hitting Pakistani posts in the process. Pakistan is placed in a tough spot and forced to take action against NATO and the drones.

Now regardless of that, still it's needs be reflected that there should 100% transparent communication between NATO and the Pakistani side for these kind of hot pursuits. Because I'm more concerned about Pakistani soldiers taking matters into their own hands and hitting back at NATO in which case that scanario would be gravy for taliban and al-quada.

Pakistan says Nato halt temporary
Saturday, 02 Oct, 2010

WASHINGTON: Pakistan's ambassador to the United States on Friday promised that his country would reopen its border crossing with Afghanistan to US-led forces once it can be confident of security.

Pakistan said Thursday that it was closing the Torkham border crossing —vital to supply US troops in Afghanistan —after Nato helicopters killed three Pakistani troops on their own side of the border.

“I think as soon as we can ensure the security of the convoys moving through the Khyber Pass, we will have them moving again,” Husain Haqqani, the Pakistani ambassador in Washington, said on CNN.

Haqqani said that Pakistan ordered the closure for security reasons due to public outrage over the killing of the troops.

“In a situation like that, if the supplies were continuing, there would have been a possibility that there may have been a security situation that we had to deal with,” Haqqani said.

At this point, maybe Pakistan should try allying itself totally with China and Russia against the USA. Maybe it should try being an enemy of the USA to see if that is a better strategy. After all, Obama is a total wimp, so the strategy would have two year's "grace" period until a Republican was elected who would hit Pakistan hard. So, maybe, that is a good gamble. In those two years maybe the "all-weather" friend would build up Pakistani air defenses so that the USA couldn't cause much damage after Obama is gone. That way Pakistan could return to it's preferred Indo-centric focus and could, possibly, control Afghanistan as well.

Bullet and a slap is not the answer of a problem. Talking with everyone makes you a unique country. Pakistan SHOULD NOT isolate herself by bowing down to their Soviet counterparts. Rather, a policy which will decrease the dependency on the U.S.

Do we really have to fight with each other to drive the car (meant for every county)?

"Hit Pakistan hard" What exactly do you mean by that? US will kill Pakistani civilians, military personnel, launch air strikes in the tribal areas? I think they're already doing that. Maybe you mean an all-out war with Pakistan. I think you don't understand the position of the Paksitani nation. In Iraq, they had a dictator who was oppressing the people, so ofcourse people would be glad to see him go. Even then the US lost 4,500 soldiers and ~9,000 private contractors. Imagine invading Paksitan where the only ones that are pro-American are the rulers, and the 170 million population would love to get their hands on a U.S. soldier. It wouldn't be a war with nuclear-armed military of 700,000, it would be a war against 170 million people. And don't eliminate the China factor. Every super-power tried to get a foot hold near the Strait of Hormuz. The Russians failed and broke up. The U.S. succeeded and now they control the oil flow routes. China did not invest billions in the Gawardar Port (next to the strait) for nothing. If China has to fulfil it's global asparations, it will not let the U.S. block it out from the energy resources. Not to mention that the U.S. has a very average ground force. The only superiority it has is in the air and the sea. Pakistan on the other hand has a particularly strong ground force. The invasion (by air) might go well, but thats it. So an occupation of Paksitan is out of the question. The moment they land on Paksitan soil, they would be in Paksitani neighbourhood.
You statement reminded me of how 14 year-olds talk, who spend the whole day playing Call of Duty.

That was when the neo-cons aimed at the "red menace" and Pakistan was the natural ally. Today the neo-cons aim at the "Islamic threat" and "China"..both of which has Pakistan as the natural adversary.

Politics in the US has made a extreme hard right turn...
