For Pakistanis, principles are more important than economic prosperity.

Now, that's quite a surprise coming from an indian. I suppose all indians are not filled with blind hatred towards Pakistan.

I do have a solution but it will take decade's
Law , corruption, social injustice, terrorism, crime are all part of all the societies be it western or Eastern
All these sins lie in humans.
For me the best solution is Education because without there won't be any change
Because to sustain a society you must have justice,education when these to are active all the other problems can be controlled and countered
Current generation of Pakistan is so morally corrupt there is no way out of it and
As impact of education is growing be it villages or cities you will change for the reform
When enough lower class citizen have education they will stand up for them selves and stand against injustice and than law forces are independent enough you will see it's impact in all the other problems it will contain all other problems

Maintaining a large military is always a burden on resources, Pak military budget is $9 billion while forex is $20 - 25 billion.

Mughal economy suffers greatly from Aurangzeb Deccan campaign (27 year war with Marathas) which almost emptied the mughal coffers and drained the resources.

Proxy/ unconventional wars , somehow compensate for the inferior conventional Military.

IMO Iran enjoy this advantage than any other country in the region.

Slightly off-topic but one of the reasons that West Pakistan would not accept Mujib as Prime Minister in 1971 was that he wanted to abolish feudalism.

Important problem was the superiority complex of Pakistanis .And popularity of Mujib played a fair part.

Why the non Europeans queuing for a visa in a western nation ?
Because they have something that is far better than others .

last time I checked principles don't feed the poor, it's is our principle that are the root cause of our isolation in not just the Islamic world but the entire world, the rhetorics like "fortress of Islam" although noble as they may seem, are the cause of the crap we are in.
You can look at the recent Torkham debacle to clear any doubts
It time we move away from such childish beliefs and pursue a more rational and pragmatic foreign policy, only then can we progress as a nation and all our "principles" will fall in line themselves

No, the tangible resource they have is capable people who work hard and are not robbed by corrupt politicians. Most wealth is not in resources, it's in labor. Smart Pakistanis flee the country in droves to get away from the provincial attitudes, corruption, and highly restrictive society. You're leaking a huge chunk of your best people to other countries. Further, you don't produce as many capable people per captia - too many madrassas, not enough technical schools.

You also have significant sectarian problems. In the West, there are difference of opinion, but it only very very rarely comes to violence.

And, apparently, a large percentage of the Pakistani population likes it that way.

There was a time when Pakistan was ahead of India. But Pakistan had one weakness. The Pakistani populace is given to corruption. For some money, many of the Pakistan’s sons of the soil won’t think twice before taking traitorous decisions. Recent past is littered with such instances.

Example 1: The mole in the 1971 war gave crucial intelligence input to India regarding the plans of Pakistan Air Force.

Example 2: RAW had created a contact in Pakistan who gave them information regarding the plans and geographic location of the Pakistan’s nuclear weapons program.

Example 3: It is said that Zia-ul-Haq had no plan to travel by plane. It was some Pakistani who persuaded-pressurized Zia to sit in the plane which later met with the ‘accident’.

Preference of personal interest over that of society or nation and it’s a small country to boot – those are the traits which makes it possible for outsiders to control Pakistan.
