What China must ensure to do to bring back KMT in office the next time is that they must ensure that Taiwan's economy suffers under DPP. This will make sure that KMT will come the next time around.

Why would China want KMT back in office? They are no different than DPP. However you do speak the truth on the beauty of election politics, that to win back the office, what's needed is to impede the opponent in power, and that KMT can do without needing the help of Beijing. Of course if DPP does antagonize the cross strait relation, then KMT will have it easy in the next cycle, although I doubt Tsai will be foolish enough to act upon unlike her predecessor.

The essence of democracy is for opponents to prove the incumbents suck, and the incumbents do suck, period.
