It will have to go supersonic from the get go, not build up to it, because it will be targeted at a moving target with advanced ESM.

P282 is a Anti Ship Ballistic missile. Shaheen Series r Strategic SSMs.

It will be different and hypersonic. Very different to the SSMs.

The only feasible option for effective antiship ballistic missiles under current economic situation is DF 21 style ballistic missile with MARV. Hypersonic glide vehicles are just too expensive for us to make and maintain compared to these missiles. And alpha version of shaheen 1 have been tested repeatedly over the years and its rentry vehicle is quite similiar to pershing missile and DF 21, thats why i think they will just rename the shaheen to the navy's designation

hypersonic cruise missilees are too complex and costly compared to anti ship ballistic missiles.

I do believe it will be based on some existing Pakistani missile. PN will be following China and probably will get some help too. Just like Chinese are developing DF 21 based ASM we will have same may be with limited range than DF 21 based one.
