Do realize that Hindus are extreme miniorty in Pakistan. Most of those counted "minority" are ahmadis (at least 4 million ahmedis are in Pakistan counted as "non-muslims").

If we exclude them, the combined number of hindus, Christians, Sikh is extremely small.

Pakistan was largely Buddhist country before islam.

Furthermore "the ethinic Pakistani hindus" do have "sense of race". Many have lost the sense of caste system but still feel they are largely different from indian hindus. Equally importantly Many do have "hots" for fellow Pakistani muslims. That gives them "the" same strange but unbreakable attachment to Pakistan that provides attachment to Indian Muslims with indian hindus.

This is despite the fact that most of us stay away from them and they from us.

Not at all. A legislature to give citizenship to Indians in Srilanka is passed way ago. about 1 million Tamils are already given citizenship under that law.
