Is Pan Islamism a remedy for IS threat?

Struggle for power, emergence of armed groups, prolong civil war, falling economies, sporadic ethnic clashes, proxy wars and quest for peace and shelter of IDP's. Such things are dissenting Middle East and Africa in never ending turmoil. Rise of Islamic Extremism and inception of Islamic State which is directly or indirectly threatening each and every liberal state of the world. The spill over of Syria and Libya and other war torn states is costing leg and arm to neighbouring countries. Progress of Islamic state to become a world wide caliphate is anticipated by it's followers all over the world. With every day passing by one or the other armed group is swearing allegiance to Islamic State.

West funding local militias and group is proving to be a failure like West's long vision less policy towards Middle East. It is a time for all Islamic Republic or Monarch countries to stand and face the challenge posed by IS.

Can long forgotten idea of "Pan Islamism" be proved remedy against the hate ideology of IS, which perceives Islamic Ideology differently than other Islamic Nations?

Can a peaceful caliphate and Mujahideen be found by regional Islamic States to combat The terror group?

It is an ideology of getting Muslim world together as ummah to guard any invasion or attack on Muslim interest. This thought has been in existence since the time of prophet. It can really help in combating IS ideology invasion and expansion... It was my question to an open forum if that type of strategy can help guarding world by Islamic State threat???

Yes!!! Part of the reasons for the rise of the groups like ISIS or AQ is because of the anger at the lack of action by some useless governments when it comes to muslim issues

This anger turns to hate and breeds even more hatred and vengeance and desire to hurt

Vey well said... Ummah of Muslim countries can leave such an effect n such ideology that it will refrain brain washed fighters to migrate to occupied regions of IS to fight for something against Islamic values... Middle east and central Asian countries can really put a stop on such terror groups...

Aren't you being Islamic State sympathizer...that's what they too argue for... For example World has more Christians than Muslims... If they start thinking too about invading every Muslim Country ..what will happen... Do u have any idea...

I do believe that if all Muslim countries team up in a alliance to combat ISIS then yes Pan-Islamism can defeat ISIS.

Also, Muslim countries, particularly in the middle east need a lot of political and economic reforms. They need to transition away from dictatorships and monarchies and embrace a form of democracy that is compatible with their respective societies. The people want their voices heard and the governments should listen to their people rather than suppress their voices through the use of brute force. Such actions on the part of the state leads to civil wars (Syria) and make room for ISIS like movements to fill in the power vacuum.
