I agree the tax collection in Pakistan needs to be a priority, and i think the following steps need to be taken as they will not only curb corruption and eliminate the black/undocumented economy but will also help in tax collection

1. Removal of big paper currency notes i.e. Rs5000 notes
2. Reduction in numbers of the Rs1000 notes
3. Removal of bank transaction fees and all bank accounts to be linked to Nadra ID cards
4. Banks to provide electronic pos systems easily and cheaply just the like system in the below image

5. Harsh/Severe Penalties for tax evasions.
6. Streamlining income tax procedure
7. Centralized electronic database that keeps records of all properties and vehicles in the country linked to Nadra ID cards.

The above steps will encourage people to use their bank cards for transactions which can easily keep records for audit purposes. Will also reduce the cost involved in producing paper notes. Will also make it harder to hide wealth and will force people to pay their taxes or face severe punishment.

Lets consider that You make 6 figures (upward of 1 lac).
The tax deducted from your hard-earned money EACH MONTH is enough to pay a lower class person a salary for a lower class job.
That money can put food in his and his family's mouth.
Now how would you feel that this money that could have been better utilized is being deducted from your salary and is used to buy sandals for Mariam Nawaz?

But here is some info:

But on a serious note, Pakistan doesn't just need better tax collection, but also better tax management. The only way possible is if there is a law that all govt contracts are transparent and open to the public. For example if there is a contract signed for a bridge to be built then a copy of it should be available on the govt website. Also any amendments in the contract should also be available.

Also the head of the provinces and the PM should have an annual presentation to their respective houses of all projects that they have initiated and completed and details provided.

That is the only way that will raise the confidence of the tax payers

First of all mister 'cpec academic', CPEC is not just a road, its a series of highways, railways, pipelines, and energy projects. If they are using CPEC 'for their own use' then tell me what the purpose of building electrical plants, and having the highways connect major cities is for? Why not just build a massive road from Gwadar straight to the China border and save billions, rather than connecting Karachi, KPK, and Punjab with each other? Also why would they also declare a string of Agricultural initiatives, as well as cooperation on research projects?

If you knew anything about Pakistan or CPEC then you'd know that Karachi Port, is vastly unsuitable for the requirements of high economic growth, yes the port could have been expanded, but it would be more beneficial to instead build another high capacity port and at the same time allow trade to flow into Balochistan, which before now was only really connected to either Iran or the rest of Pakistan, but now they have their own Port which will incentivize previously reluctant businesses to move into Baluchistan and make money in the process.

Also having a single port is a security risk, if war were to ever break out, then Karachi port would just be the immediate target, or a series of coordinated terrorist attacks could just as easily cripple the city and halt trade. Now with Gwadar we have a backup, which is probably one of the reasons you morons are so butt hurt.

The Chinese relationship with coal and Pakistan, is that they have bought rights to certain coal mines, and financed certain coal power projects.

Electricity is desperately needed in Pakistan, since there has been load shedding for the past 30+ years. if that means we have to use outdated resources like coal to meet demand then so be it. It will be worth it as the primary reason businesses don't invest in Pakistan is due to the lack of continuous electrical supply, once we can provide power businesses will flood in, and a few decades down the line we can look at replacing with more economical sources of power.
