I swallowed my ego years ago and realised that my elders were losers who got conquered by the superior Western civilisation. Therefore, I have no pride in a culture that only resulted in defeat and colonial rule by the master race.
You know I would give you a + rating for this but I can't. It takes clear untrammelled intelligence to make the abstraction you did and even more it requires guts to swallow the implications of that abstraction and then learn to move forward.
You are one hundred per cent right. We as a people not long ago were defeated and made slaves. Think of this. A few english came and made slaves of the entire South Asia. All of us martial races, fighting tribes, superior Brahmin, fatwa splurging mullahs, khalsa Sikhs, coast to coast, mountain to mountain, we were made into b*tches. And then we remained b*tches for over
humdred years. That includes Mr Bombastic

milliions of us, generation after
generation were born as slaves, died as slaves. This is the
brutal reality and it only ended in 1947.
So how do explain this? First though,
never ever think this was because we were
inferior. Never. No we were
not inferior. However our culture, our way of thinking, our social mores our entire outlook was
rotten to the core and was inferior. The proof is our history of slavery.
Think of this as a computer and the program. The
hardware and the
software. There is nothing wrong with our hardware so don't you ever dare look at Europeans as superior. Stand tall against them and in fact stand
even taller. We are
heirs to people who were cradle of human civilization when most of these Europeans were going around running in snow with a rawhide wrapped around their posteriors and making
grunting sounds.
No, their
hardware is
not intrinsically superior. However as I noted they do have superior
software. It is their culture, their way of doing things, their outlook or the "program" that makes takes them ahead of us and what enabled them to destroy our world when they took it over so easily making us into slaves.
Therefore what is the way forward. Exactly what you suggested. A failed program is
failed. You don't keep repeating it. It failed us in 1849 and it will fail us
again in 2019. You have examples of Japanese who when exposed to the West were humiliated but unlike our forefathers learn't a lesson. Japan in 1890s went through a period of copying the "white devils" and they did not stop until Japan began to look like a European country on the edge of Asia. It is not surprising that Japan went on to become the only non European country to join the great powers and fought against Russia. It defeated that country when most of non Europeans were slaves. They did is because they did exactly what you stated. Nothing wrong with our hardware but we need a refresh our failed software.
Accepting this is not easy. But this is the truth. Just as a observation the second non Euro country to follow the "refresh software" after Japan was Turkey. Look at them now. Today South Korea, Chinese, Japanese, Singapore, Turkey are to a large part "refreshed software"" examples. And I want you to ask yourself this question. Which
two communities in South Asia adopted partial "refresh softwares"?
