Or... they can resign if they feel the orders are against the interests of the State of Pakistan and/or their personal moral compass. No harm hoping!

That is too much to ask of anyone. Is life as simple? All have families to support and cannot just resign because of incorrect orders from above; besides, the senior, middle and lower ranks have no way identifying a correct order from an incorrect order as something that may seem incorrect to them may be the best course of action based on information available only with the senior most command.

Army is one of the many institution of Pakistan so yes we can Criticize them as a Institute ..
People who serve in army are not aliens of comes from outside, but they are people among us hence they are not immune to criticism or wrongs as well, Hence Yes we can Criticize them in individual capacity as well ..

but Criticism doesn't mean, We blame them for our own failures, or completely ignore the other factors .

i have never heard of any other country that criticizes its army except of people of Pakistan ... very strabge nation ..

Out of the countries from which you have never heard of military criticism, how many have had military coups for half of the independence period, have militaries running housing schemes, cement factories, fertilizer factories, construction industries, transport industries, marriage halls, bakeries, banks etc.? How many of the militaries from these countries have been involved in politics and making and breaking of Governments and political alliances? How many have bribed and blackmailed their own politicians and how many of these militaries have final influence on the judiciary decisions of these countries?

It has just become a taboo in our country to talk about anything related to criticising the army brass or their actions. Obviously so because Pakistan has been under military rule for the most part of its existence. So now people are scared to.

Criticising the army threatens the national security of our country is the biggest lie ever told our naive nation. Sadly most believe it and live by it. If you don’t criticise, your never able to look at the other angle, hence improve. Only Allah is perfect.

Absolutely, if you live in Pakistan and have all your assets and everything here, you certainly think twice before saying anything against the army even if it’s for constructive criticism. Like I said, if you live and function here you’d know. Again, I’d say this fear exists because of the coups and life under military rule.

Those liberals that you speak of don’t criticise the army, they undermine it, mainly because they have hidden agendas $$$. So I think it’s important to differentiate. But let’s not drop to their level and abuse them. Abusing and bad mouthing never adds weight to an argument. Shot at point blank? How old are you my dear friend?

I agree with most of what you said but we can't conclude that resigning is not an option simply because there are mouths to feed. They can be fed through many other means --- just as the vast majority of Army Officers, including Lt Gens, continue to work after retirement.

To be honest its a human nature. Let me give you some harsh examples:
1) Hindus say that everything bad happened to them were due to muslim rulers of India(but what hindus got in last 70 years).
2) Pakistanis think Army is responsible for every of their misery.
3) Previously Iraqis were thinking that Saddam was the reason behind their miseries.
4) Syrians think Asad is THE GUY.

so on so forth.

The truth is: Army doesn't say to electric company employees to take bribe. Army doesn't force police guys to take bribes. Army doesn't force PSQCA guys to take bribes and don't perform their duties(and people die due to their fun-loving-lives). In fact Army doesn't hinders anyone from doing good for his/her society. Some good examples of good people from Pakistan, who were successful in doing something very very fruitful for society(because they wanted it)

1. Isn't Army is running commercial businesses of it's own?
2. Why Army interfere in all Civilian matters right from inception of this country?
3. Why they control media?
4. Why they cannot be questioned in parliament or otherwise?
5. Why there expenses (budget) are unaccounted for?
6. Why they take 50% of nation's budget whereas common man doesn't have basic facilities?
7. Why no army person has been held accountable for 1965, 1971, Afghan war, Kargil debacles? It was Army's decisions (establishment's)
8. why in every government / semi-government institution, there is a retired general / office?
9. why they are above law?
10. Why anyone questioning their way of working is a traitor?

If the answer is ...No they do not do any of the above.....than " May God be with You".
