What's new

Is India a country or a continent?

Why is it that all the Indians here like to equate the idea of India (which was very recent idea) to the history of the entire subcontinent?

The Indus River for example exists almost entirely within modern-day Pakistan, and they completely reject India's claim over its legacy.
Indians are second hand imperialists. They are claiming Pakistani history as their own so they can conquer Pakistan in the future.

Outrage as China lays claim to Genghis Khan

He swept all before him and subjugated much of the known world. But now, almost 800 years after his death, Genghis Kahn is embroiled in another war as China attempts to adopt the Mongol king as its own national hero.

In stark contrast to Mao Zedong, who insisted Genghis was only fit to fire arrows at birds, communist officials and historians now say he represents the essence of new China – a unifying force for a strident land of many ethnic minorities.

"We define him as a great man of the Chinese people, a hero of the Mongolian nationality, and a giant in world history," said Guo Wurong, the manager of the new Genghis Khan "mausoleum" in China's Inner Mongolia province.

"Genghis Khan was certainly Chinese," he added.

The ''mausoleum" was built on a spot the Mongol leader was said to have passed on his way to his final war in 1227, and holds artefacts including his bow and saddle.

There is nothing called Pakistani history when talking about the IVC in particular! Pakistani history starts in 1947
There is something called the history of the region where Pakistan currently exists. That does not make it the history of Pakistanis. ie current day people of Pakistan!
eg. The race, religion, language etc of those who lived in the IVC is unknown. So to say that the "ancestors" of Pakistanis were the IVC folks is a factually wrong statement.
For that you would need DNA comparisons between those of current day Pakistan and the folks who created and flourished the IVC.
Since the latter DNA (IVC) does not exist, this comparison cannot be made or would be factually wrong.
There also is no cultural, language or religious similarities between current day Pakistanis and the IVC

No doubt Pakistanis can and should be proud of the history of their lands. But to claim that their ancestors built the IVC would be wrong as well.

So in short! No one is stealing Pakistani history...We cant because we know it began in 1947 and is well documented!

Funny thing is Chinese claim all of East Asian history because of Sino-centric delusions of grandeur and Sinosphere

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinocentrism

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Asian_cultural_sphere

Which Japanese made very clear in WW2 how much they despise it and reject it.

We even had Chinese here claim Bhutan, because it has dragon on flag

All of this despite concept of a Chinese nation is as recent as 1912

Zhonghua minzu (Chinese: 中华民族), translated as "Chinese nation

India is a country, its often termed as subcontinent to reflect the massive diversity of different geographical regions present and due to the Indian Plate projecting southwards into the Indian Ocean from the Himalayas, distinct geographical scenario term it into subcontinent.

Indian history starts a day later.

So to say that the "ancestors" of Pakistanis were the IVC folks is a factually wrong statement.

Yeah they were your tropical ancestors who vacated Pakistan once my ancestors arrived form Mars. Idiot.

Have I disputed that? Read what I wrote before you decide to start your usual BS.

we dont know what happened to them period! So where is the question of them being my ancestors or yours?
But if they are your ancestors, then prove it!
What similarities exist between those of IVC and modern day Pakistanis except that they shared the same land?
I'm all ears.

.
Who built the IVC? Some say they were Proto-Dravidians who were later on driven to South India by invading Aryans crossing over from Hindu Kush.

. .
Arab invasions of the subcontinent ended in failure , Bin Qasim ravaged what is modern day Sindh last i recall was located in Pakistan and his successors were reduced to vassal states of Indian empires.

This is bit rich coming from self proclaimed wannabe leader of the Islamic wrld, which has been subjugated for over 2400 years beginning as early as 518 BC with not a single instance of resistance or defense against any invaders which included :

And yes you have every reason to admire Indian empire which liberated your ancestors from foreign invaders

Both India and Pakistan were created in 1947. We know that because the term India was a geographical expression prior to that time. Pakistan has better claim to IVC as IVC existed within today's boundary of Pakistan. India 's claim of
IVC is as legitimate as if India claim ancient Nile civilization as its own.

You mean Pakistans claim over the IVC is the same as the modern day americans, claiming the history of North America before the white man colonized it.

And as far as Indian claims go, India has a lot of the IVC cities as well. Lets not forget that.
So if at all its a shared history of the subcontinent. NOT ancestral history of either people living in the two modern day states and definitely not exclusive to either one.

Quoting from bias source to serve your low IQ trolling.

The man quoted in the article was the manager of Genghis Khan Mausoleum, mostly likely a Mongol Chinese, in Inner Mongolia China. The descendant of Genghis Khan 's Golden family are all Chinese nationals. There are twice as many Mongol(Chinese nationality) living in China than Mongolia. 5.8 million vs 2.8 million.
