F14 is an interceptor which flies at high altitudes in most of it's operational life. The new painting (blue-gray one) provides better camouflage in the sky. So, personally, I prefer the new painting.

Saegheh is a joint product of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force and the Iranian Ministry of Defense, it is the second generation of the Iranian Azarakhsh fighter, developed from the Northrop F-5. Saeqeh aircraft were tested successfully in Iran 20 September 2007.

It is one of the initial steps of a big plan to develop an indigenous technology to meet the future requirements of IRIAF. Unfortunately little information on the specifications of Saeqeh has been officially released. On 6 August 2007 the Ministry of Defense unveiled the plan of "manufacturing of the fifth generation of Iranian aircraft."

It was an advanced jet trainer aircraft. It sounds to have some Russian technology support especially from Mikoyan. I do not exactly know what happened to that project. Melika may provide us more information about his/her claim of abortion.

we have lack of funds
so that we started joint project with china
indigenous can only be successful when you have lot of experience
even today most nation are working on joint project like f-35 and pakfa

Yes, every body knows about extravagant cost of those programs & cutting edge technology needed. We have the only option of developing of our own, step by step.

The M-ATF program was originally a project between Russia and Iran to produce a fourth+ generation fighter plane that would be excellent for developing nations who want to become self-sufficient and self-reliant. The program was eventually abandoned by Russia and Iran, though now some evidence has become available that Iran has either revived the program or using it to advance its Shafaq program. The program traces its roots to the Russian cancelled Mikoyan Project LFI program; the aircraft was also referred to as the MiG-I-2000 or Vityaz2000. A model of the original aircraft was shown at Iran Airshow 2005.

Yes, it is a weakness, dramatically rising the danger of detection by the human eye! But my personal experience is it happens only when they fly at low speed especially in landing, take off & no need to say in Parade occasions.
