IRIAF | News and Discussions

The images below are screengrabs & some panel-beating of the Gen. Khajefared - CEO of Iran Aviation Industries Organization - interview.

What is obvious from the center a/c is that its LERX and the rest of the wings looks to be similar to F-5/Kowsar. What does seem different to me is the slightly 'square-rified' intakes, and at a slight inclination.

Second from right is a section showing what appears to be an engine nozzle. Just to the rear, inside of the fuselage, looks something like this ɷ. Why does this look like provision for the fitting of two smaller engines. Certainly hope not.

Moving to the a/c to the right, clearly no cranked delta in evidence.

On the left of this image is a partial wing of a parallel Kowsar 2-seat assembly line.

What stands out the most here is the near horizontal dorsal 'extension'? that appears to hold from the rear of the c/pit that joins up at the rear with the exterior 'ducts'. This can safely be interpreted as providing space for a larger single engine.

If this is indeed the future go-to combat a/c of the IRIAF, then this TV interview, and images, will influence the regional aerial status quo for a long time to come.

Enjoy

Thank you Piet, beautiful image good observation, I perceived these small details in the design. It shows that they are making constant small improvements and upgrades in the design of the kowsar. Thank you, we are moving towards the real facts

Let the ignorant laught, you ll have the last laught, it s incredible the level of OSINT believers there are here,..., so if Iran show 4 warplanes , Iran just have 4 warplanes because serial numbers... how smart...

So from this point onwards if Iran show a rifle Iran only has a rifle 😅
....OSINT believers...

I think you point right on your vision of the new F-5 cell and the assembly line, Iran cannot waste the time, and make 4 warplanes a year is something foolish, it s better to buy SU-27 to russians... Common sense will give you the reason, and hope people laughing excuses you at the end.

I think you are right on this.

Both of them are perfectly compatible.
IRIAF needs urgently a heavy superiority fighter to replace ageing F14. But can, or better said, must maintain some national projects to continue growing their national aerospace industry.

But suggesting that a F5 even with new system can do the task of a simple Mig-29 it is impossible, for not mention something bigger and more powerful like Su30SM or Su35.

IRIAF need a fighter capable of flying with Radar off, with passive IRST, capable of patrolling skies for hours (that require a bigger size than a humble Mig29), with some data link and connected to national SAM grid. It needs speed for chasing a far UAV and highest service ceiling for giving their missile the best chance to destroy any enemy. Nowadays some 4.5 generation fighters like Rafale or Typhoon have digital ESM/ECM enough to make a real map of electronic emissions flying completely without emitting any signal and locate any intruder by their electronic emissions. I am pretty sure Su35 have similar ESM suite for doing that task.

Kowsar it is excellent for training future pilots, and probably they have a good ECM suite and even new radar, but is not enough for patrolling in CAP missions over long distances and their sensors are not enough for following smalls trails of VLO objects and planes. Su35 or J16 can do that.

You are really underestimating the future Kowsar with another name. This plane becomes very technological and very efficient and goes well beyond a training fighter. It is the ideal combat aircraft to support larger aircraft.

With a reduced radar signature, a new more efficient and powerful radar, artificial intelligence, new missiles and more, this aircraft fears the enemy. He'll be a pain in the *** for the enemy

I imagine these warplanes acting and attacking and chasing enemies like wolves. Some people here has not imagination.

They have low RCS and low RCS painting, a skie plenty of this monster will create a pandemonium scenary for the enemies.

Iran needs F-5 now, right now with the new cells, and we will see what has iranian engineers for tomorrow. Iran is investing in something under the chain montains for sure. Eager to see the future iranian military.

While people on this forum think that technicians stand in front of planes doing nothing, real engineers and technicians work to improve their own technology.

Somewhat at a loss here.

Are the Chain Mountains an actual geographic feature or is it a reference to an inanimate place that usually has a specific meaning attached to it, like defence for instance.

Thanks

Piet

Does Iran have a kit to convert the blue freefall bombs into guided bombs?

I really don't see any use of a dumb bomb beside doing collateral damage and being imprecise, look at Russia usage of dumb bombs

Greetings

Apologies for going off topic, as I am actually referring to your post of Aug 20, 2023.

Do you know what engine the tech is working on below, is.

Does not look like either a GE-85-21A or OWJ to me.

Thanks

P

I don t know why you are lost, and even have not idea what are you asking for...

Chain montains are chain montains, more than one montain. Chain montains specifies a proposit on this context, these montains on Iran are technological source of weaponry.

Someone suggested RD-33
Image in Iran
Definitely not Owj or J85 at all
