This small cruise missile is amazing!!!!! We need to arm our helicopters with this too.

The UAV is okay, It appears there is competition between different sector in the UAV field. Healthy competition is good. But Airforce is still quite a bit behind the mighty IRGC.

But I am impressed by this small cruise missile, not easy at all to make something this compact. Well done to IRIAF.

why is the air force wasting time, money and resources on building their own drones when the IRGC has several quality platforms...?

its better to pour resources into, and improve a few standard platforms then to build a mishmash of different drones all over the place. this is one of the weaknesses with Iranian defense industry.

standardization is nonexistent. and if the IRGC is unwilling to cooperate with or share tech/weapons with the army, then that's a huge problem that needs immediate addressing

Is this the same Iranian drone which Pakistani JF-17 Thunder shot down on 21 Feb 2017?

I really like this little cruise missile, its actually quite a clever little weapon with a lot of potential not just for drone launch but for manned aircraft launch, naval launch and mobile ground launchers as well. One could also develop different seeker head options for it and extended range variants too. This really deserves to be considered as a multi service+irgc weapon,as its potentially that good.
Now if only the airforce had chosen an existing drone like the mohajer 6 to mount it on rather than wasting time money and effort to develop its own drone instead. This sort of needless reinventing of the wheel is simply a waste of resources and time which could have been better spent by the airforce on other things as the airforce probably has the least resources to waste in the first place. There needs to be much greater effort by the different branches of the iranian military to avoid this sort of "not invented by us" mentality and to work together to develop the best platform or system regardless of who ultimately designed or built it in the first place. Now admittedly all the worlds militaries suffer from the syndrome to one degree or another, but it is a waste of both time and resources that iran just cant afford.

No,that was the shahed 129,a male class drone[medium altitude long endurance]

Agreed, iran simply cant afford this needless reinventing of the wheel, especially when it comes to drone technology.

well , they never liked to cooperate with each other even during Iraq-Iran war .... and IR is ok with it because they wanted to have them separated and use one to keep other one in check ...

Whenever focus is on Israel, Israel somehow manages to make its enemies fight each other, such as in Iran Iraq war? They should have dealt with Israel first then start fighting each other. Similarly, Saddam should have invaded Israel first then gone after Kuwait.

Get rid of Israel most of the problems of the Middle East will disappear.
They start wars between their enemies. Pakistan India escalation is because of them.

Iran Lebanon Syria should form a coalition. Syria and Lebanon should unite as one country against Israel temporarily after defeating Israel they can divide themselves.

From Iran, only one way due to 1000km range.
Iran does not need to launch from its soil from we have many friendly groups to launch that are much closer to the occupied territories.

It's combat radius is 1000km not it's range!

1000km combat radios means it can easily be launched from Iran head towards a target 1500km away and land somewhere within 500km (near where a 2nd operator is at)

At a speed of 200kph and 10 hour flight time it's total range is 2000km

I personally think The Akhgar is a rout the IRGC should have also taken a while ago because it gives a relatively slow UAV quicker reaction time for troops on the ground and Iran can also modify the Akhgar to be rocket launched off it's tactical vehicles on the ground and it would have most definitely been useful in Syria where a relatively light tactical vehicles could park outside a city and with the help of a light recon UAV deliver PGM for troop on the ground
If Mosul Airport had for example 10 of these they could have taken out a convoy of 30 terrorist vehicles before they could even attempt to enter the city giving Iraqi military and PMU forces time to further deal with them before they entered the city
