I was very clear..let me clear it more..territories are won and captured by foot soldiers. Iran at the moment understood this..they cant challenge Air superiority so left there air force, their navy and for some extant their army as proper armed forces are established as is..what ever they have will be the 1st casualties of war. they will not survive even the kilo class submarine will not survive..1st two days of air campaign and heavy military equipment or army mostly tanks and artillery may be a week or fortnight. this is a established fact.

so they (Iranians) built them selves to survive air campaign for maybe a month or more till other-side have exhausted the target dockets. after that if there is any will of US to invade Iran they have to send in the ground troops.at this conjecture i intend to believe they will call it a day.. this is where Iranians have invested. they now have battle harden soldiers (syria & iraq) motivated (to fight till end) and equipped to fight on there own terms.(ATGMs/MANPADS/light infantry/lots of technicals and light direct weapons) to move around. i think US armed forces are not stupid enough to go in on ground.Ground war will be long and drawn out affair - i am sure US has enough of it from Afghanistan/Iraq and even Syria economically it becomes nonviable to fight and in the end Iran is left battered but celebrating few missile strikes and closure of strait of hormuz calling it a victory and still maintaining control over its territory Mullah in power and there control more effective and their opposition subdued.

So in effect same goes for the navy ...nothing will survive air campaign but small light boats and good quantities of X-Subs and large numbers of frogman and mines. VA111 Rocket torpedoes and lots and lots of guided and unguided ballistic missiles in small confines of Persian gulf and strait of Hormuz.

End result US economically crippled. so there will be no full fledged war - just an air campaign to make israel happy! and close the chapter for next 40 years..

That was a stationary target

You still have to give credit for a ballistic missile pinpoint accuracy against a small target. There is reason for stationery target as the area to cordon off for a missile test will be smaller and easier to manage. While u never know Iran ballistic missile has the capabilities to engage moving ships. This is to keep enemy in suspend and tell them not to make any rash move.

i agree but it could be bombed and sent bk to sqaure one by air raid .
just imagine a tora bora type air raid on tehran or qom . it will beat the hell out of irgc .

If War with Iran is so simple for the U.S and even UAE according to some of our Pakistani friends here, then why has nobody attacked Iran directly? After all "Iran is the leading state sponsor of terror in the world" according to the U.S who has been waging war on "terror" since 2001!
