IRGC chief Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari
The chief of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says all attempts by the Takfiri terrorist group of Daesh against Iran have been thwarted.

“Daesh has for long been seeking to create insecurity in Iran. However, thanks to the intelligence superiority of the [country’s] security apparatus and people’s good cooperation, their attempts have so far been thwarted,” Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said on Sunday.

The terror group is mainly active in Syria and Iraq. It has overrun about a third of both countries and is tyrannizing the civilian population there. The group has also claimed responsibility for a number of heinous attacks across the world, including the recent armed attacks and bombings in the French capital Paris that killed 132 people.

“Daesh enjoys support networks which back them and these networks have different layers. One of these networks was identified in Kermanshah (Province in western Iran) and its members were arrested. Other networks are within reach of [our] intelligence superiority and they will be dealt with if need be,” said Jafari.

He called it far-fetched should the group manage to take any “large-scale” action in the country. “It may take minor actions, but would not be able to create insecurity in Iran like what it is doing in other countries.”

Referring to the group’s origination, Jafari said, “The Western governments imagined that this threat that they have created is only for the countries of the [Middle East] region. But now that this threat has backfired on them, they too have taken action to fight Takfiri groups.”

The United States and some of its allies have been conducting airstrikes against what they say are Daesh positions in Iraq since August 2014. The assaults have failed to dislodge the group.

Some members of the US-led coalition have also been pounding purported Daesh positions inside Syria without any authorization from Damascus or a United Nations mandate since last September. The mission has similarly fallen severely short of rooting out the terrorists.

However, the advances of the Syrian army have been expedited since Russia launched its own air campaign against the terrorists on September 30.

Terrorists Recently Captured in Iran Had Support of US: Judiciary

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Judiciary spokesman said the terrorist elements arrested in the country over the past days are proved to have been nurtured by foreigners and benefited from the backing of the US.

The point is that none of the detainees were member of a single, specific terrorist group, but had links with “branches” of different Takfiri groups, Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei said at a press conference in Tehran on Sunday.

Supports for the arrested terrorists came from outside the country, mainly by the US, he added.

His comments came after the Intelligence Ministry announced on Saturday that it smashed two terrorist cells that had plotted to carry out bombings in two southeastern and northwestern provinces of Iran.

The one busted in the province of Sistan and Baluchestan had plans to insecure roads near the city of Iranshahr by detonating up to 150 kilograms of explosives, an official announced.

lol ISIS is only good at terrorizing semi skilled and pathetic Arab armies, they can defend their territory to some extent through guerrilla warfare but they certainly don't have the capacity to attack any organized professional army and withstand the retaliation.
