Iraqi Prime Minister receives authorisation to use all means to fight 'terrorism' in Fallujah

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has received authorisation from all parties affiliated to the Shia Iraqi National Alliance to use all means necessary to fight 'terrorism' in Fallujah city in Al-Anbar governorate, a member of the Rule of Law Coalition, Ali Al-Bayani, has said.

The Shia Iraqi National Alliance is the largest bloc in the Iraqi parliament and has nominated Al-Maliki for Prime Minister twice. It is made up of the Sadrists, the Supreme Islamic Council, Al-Fadila Bloc, the Reformist National Party and the Rule of Law Coalition, which is headed by Al-Maliki.

Al-Bayani said: "In the last meeting that took place on Wednesday, all blocs of the National Alliance supported all measures taken by the Prime Minister to fight terrorism and release the water of Fallujah Dam, which is blocked by the terrorists affiliated to the Islamic State Party in Iraq and the Levant, Da'esh."

He added: "The Alliance told Al-Maliki it accepts that all possible measures would be taken by the government to face terrorists from Da'esh, which is linked to Al-Qaeda."

Two days ago the Security and Defence Committee in the Iraqi parliament announced that the Iraqi security forces would carry out a military operation in the coming few days. The aim is to regain control over the Fallujah Dam on the Euphrates River, which it said had been seized by Da'esh.

Iraqi government and Shia parties accuse Sunni rebels in the Al-Anbar governorates of hiding members of Da'esh. Rebels have denied these accusations several times and affirmed they wanted their demands to be met.

Since the start of their peaceful protest early last year, they have been asking for radical reforms in the political system so that it guarantees the fair representation of Sunnis. Their demands were completely ignored and their protests violently attacked several times.

Last December, the Iraqi army and Shia militias swept the demonstrations and killed and arrested a number of protesters...

So are they going to approve rape and torture against Sunni's again like they did in the last with Abu Gharib? I don't get why the government is avoiding a diplomatic solution.

May Ad dawla al Islamiyya destroy the forces of al Haliki and establish the ummah.

That's the standard for the Shia militant Iraqi government these days, if there is any opposition call them 'takfiris', term used for hatred against Sunnis/Arabs just like Arabs use term 'Rafidi' which is just as hateful against Shia people. It seems these days whenever you want to commit aggression or achieve your goals just label opposition 'terrorists' to legitimize your actions. Same thing with Saudi Arabia when it comes to other opposition.

This has little to with Da'ash members, in fact nothing at all. That's the propaganda you always push, the truth is the citizens and the various tribal groups are fed up with the government policies and want change. You keep denying them their right to a voice.

Diplomatic solution with ISIL? What's with bashing ISIL in Syria and cheering for them in Iraq?
They should be negotiated with indeed ...by bullets in their heads.

It is Ad dawla al Islamiyya controlling Fallujah that held their parade 3 weeks ago.

Maliki should learn from assad, else the war and his reputation is lost. There is no other way to win the war against terror than the al-sisi way.

There are many other rebels in the area, I don't believe the situation could be de-escalated by insisting on means through force. The truth is the vast majority have nothing to do with lightly armed ISIL militants. So why are we painting the picture that way? And why are you as an Iranian quick to defend the governments policies? Do you remember their past?

ISIS parade in Fallujah 1 April 2014

No tribes, it's the Islamic state that the traitors here fear, look at the flags & listen to the nasheed they play + what they say.

No they aren't, the Sunni rebels are in control. A small parade on a few streets doesn't have any importance. The ISIL presence in Fallujah is one of self defense.

May I ask you a question? Are you an Arab?

Any non Shia is a 'terrorist' to you, wow, you sound more like the Americans and Israelis. When they seek to advance their interests under the disguise of the 'war on terror'. This is a defensive battle by the remaining Sunni population.

@doritos @Hazzy997 do you think a federal system would calm down sectarian warfare?

I believe tribal leaders should be approached and I negotiation should be settled. Violence will not solve anything, civilians casualties Ha been very high due to army shelling and army casualties have been very high. So now they're relying on placing the area under a siege and cutting off supplies which will collectively punish the civilian population. So what do you think will happen? This will only get worse, the US army couldn't fight Sunnis in Fallujah what makes you think Iraqi army would succeed? And the elections are coming up, Maliki idiot probably trying to score points off of this and failed miserably.

I thought you were Iraqi through?

Al-sisi is sunni, as well most of assads army including defence minister (also past defence ministers). Iraqis have lost 100000 to 200000 lifes because of suicide attacks by those who you call sunni population.
