New Iranian President did not provide one-on-One time to visiting Indian VP.
Iran seized Indian oil tanker for environmental violation and in retaliation india seized Iranian cargo ship.
Iran scrapped oil and gas deal with which india tried to take advantage from Iran in a bad situation.

That says lot about indian "friendly" character and Iranians rightly sized up indian intentions.

Iran did not scrap oil and gas connections to India. Only the concessions made by the Ahmadinejad government. Thats quite different.

And the original title had 'concessions' in it; not connections. One word can give a completely different meaning to something.

Not exactly. What Iran needed is variety in its trade currency. Some western currency is good, but remember, US and western nations are the one posing sanctions on Iran, so too much western currency, especially US dollar is actually not good in Iran situation.
Ultimately Iran's goal is to get the goods that they can't produce/can only produce in limited quantities from their trade partners. Since US and western nations posted a lot of sanctions on Iran, it leaves other nations to supply Iran with that they need. In this regard, the BRICS nations are excellent candidates because, #1 they are generally strong enough to not roll over before US pressure #2, they are not allied with US or western powers so they are not going to follow their sanctions.

However, Brazil and South Africa are mainly resource exporters. Russia has some industrial capacity, but they don't need petroleum. This leaves China and India as major trade partners. This is supported by the fact that Iran signed direct currency (RMB and rupee) to petroleum trade deal with both China and India. Now, this deal was originally negotiated a few years back. Back then, India economy was growing fast and Rupee is seen as a promising currency. In order to facilitate future trade and build lasting trade relationship, Iran agreed to the Rupee to petroleum deal. However, due to the recent rapid depreciation of Rupee (also US dollar, but that is at a much slower rate), the Iranians are having doubts about the strength of Rupee, hence the change in payment method.

I don't know how India voted. But the only countries that have veto power in the UNSC can stop UN sanctions being applied on other countries. Russia and China refused to veto UN sanctions on Iran. We even agreed to sanction North Korea after being pressured by the fascist thugs in Washington.

CPC always go along with sanctioning our friends by siding with the west.
