Iran's IRGC to receive long-range Soumar missile: official
TEHRAN, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Defense Ministry announced on Sunday that homegrown long-range cruise missile Soumar will be delivered to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in near future.

Iran's Deputy Defense Minister Qassem Taqizadeh told Tasnim news that the Soumar missiles will be delivered to the Iranian armed forces, but mostly to the IRGC.

The ground-launched cruise missile, which was unveiled in March 2015, enjoys modern technologies in navigation, propulsion and structure, said the report without further details on the missile specifications.

West, with the U.S. atop, has urged Iran to cease developing missiles and activities designed to carry nuclear weapons, and to start negotiations over them.

However, Iran has announced that it will continue to develop and test missiles in line with its deterrence policy despite adversarial positions taken on this issue by the U.S. officials.

The Soumar is equipped with a solid rocket booster and is thus a ground-launched missile. Besides, the cruise missile has a range of 2,500-3,000 km

These can reach Israhell, make hundreds of thousands to prevent war.

Short range missiles are mainly for Syria and Lebanese army use. Or to stop a land invasion.

These longer ones can stop a war.

It can be used on ships as it is (well not with vls ,but our ships don't have that. And for using it with airplanes it only need that they remove its booster .after all its based on an air launched missile.

but they haven't put it on any ship or plane yet, only showed video of ground launched version so far (for many years nothing happened with soumar, i think they are having problems)

they even didn't gave it to ground force or missile force . the previous launch was a paper launch , this one is actually arming the forces with it.

for example look at Kowsar Trainer/Light Fighter , they unveiled it , they showed one that flied and held a ceremony for it , then several week later there was no trace of it in the Air-force war game and they said it still not incorporated in the air force and that will be for later.

Yes,there should be a tri-service program for the weapon to get it inducted into all the branches of the regular military as quickly as possible,luckily there should be a lot of commonality with the systems,thats assuming its done correctly of course.
