No doubt. North Korea is the most contained country on earth. It is self isolationist and has zero influence beyond its borders.

Iran has expanded its influence throughout the Middle East and is a sworn enemy of Israel. So it is a major target.

You are assuming Iran does not have nukes. What a crazy assumption.

It doesn't. If Iran had nukes and ballistic missiles, it would have demonstrated that capability by now to thwart further attacks. If Iran had nukes, Israel would be afraid to continually escalate without abandon. If Iran had nukes, Israel would be the first to know because it is apparent that the Mossad has its claws deep within Iran's security apparatus.

If you declare yourself the main enemy of Israel then you have to also back it up. Reputation and morale is now in shambles in the pro IRGC camp so better to smash hard and get hit in return. That is actually the best scenario. It is now a total mess.

I don't think there is a bait. Israel only does this to these it sees it can have it's ways with. It can't even do this to Jordan without response let anyone else. Israel knows that the Iranians are fearful of them

IMO, Iranian leadership has been very brave but not very smart. Iran has been the biggest supporter of the Palestinians but what have they gotten in return? Only ruin, and most Palestinians are still not pro-Iran. I think if you step back and look at the situation on the whole, the pan-Islamic ideology that the current Iranian regime has promoted has only hurt Iran while other Muslim, particularly Arab nations, have demonstrated zero courage, ethics or pride and they have been rewarded amply.

On the other hand, Iran has expanded its influence through the Shi'ite crescent but that has come with a massive cost.

I predict that Israel will escalate high profile killings and provocations all throughout January trying to force Iran to act. It will reach a point where Iran cannot NOT act, I think Iran is there now.

Jordan stays out of Israel's way and has little influence beyond its borders. You can't compare Jordan to Iran. Jordan is happy just to stay alive in the region.
