It's depressing that this is what the land of Cyrus has been reduced to. Producing trainers rather than top of the line fighter jets.

Be realistic please! This land couldn’t even produce screws 50 years ago!

Iran is on a technological highway. Next 10 years Iran will catch up and surpass!

The Iran Aviation Industries Organisation Kowsar-88 Yasin was officially revealed to public. The aircraft has made its first flight, most probably on 15 October 2019.

The Yasin was already shown in April 2017 and was then planned for a first flight mid-2018. A scheduled five year test-programma is reported, with service entry around 2023. The aircraft is powerd by two J90s, better known as the General Electric J85s, and used in the F-5.

The Yasin is expected to be purchased by the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) as their advanced jet trainer and light attack aircraft. In 2017, the IRIAF said they wanted fifty aircraft When ordered, the aircraft will replace the F-5Bs. But, as many projects within Iran, its doubtful if this will happen.

For a trainer, seems little overkill, feels like a mini fighter jet. Anyway congrats.

thank you 1000000 times people tend to forget that we did not have this kind of technological through out of our history, no country dare to build a plan from scratch without other countries participation not even US dose that alone they did it for F-22 but other jets were built by cooperation

Great going Iran!
Yasin bears an uncanny resemblance to the CASA C-101 Aviojet though

well they built it with US help for the engine and other parts our whole parade is for our ability to build it alone

they are reversed engineered J85s they are Iranian build OWJ engines and not US built J85 engines that is very important to note

thanks, well its a trainer / close air support fighter jet that is why its overkill as its not just a trainer jet
