Iranian UAVs | News and Discussions

Well let be honest. The engine is only suitable for drones.
Wonder how would shahed 171 performance would be if they put an owj instead of Tolue 14 inside it
Agreed. You can use it to keep the F-5's flying, but not great for the modern age. So If they are willing to use Owj for an expensive UAV, I think it could lead to fascinating designs.

Doesn't S-171 use Jahesh-700? or am I confusing that with "Simorgh"?

Experimenting with a large UAV, that can dispense smaller UAVs would be pretty cool. Seems to be the future trajectory for cutting edge militaries.

This one really did give me a good chuckle, definitely a case of closing the stable door long, long after the horse has bolted[or the drone has flown the coop? 😏 ].
Meeks, McCaul, Deutch, Wilson Introduce Legislation to Sanction Iran’s Drones and Suppliers
Though it rather clearly sends the message that they are now,as always, rather begrudgingly not to mention belatedly, acknowledging both the capabilities of irans drones and the industries in the iranian military industrial complex that produces them.:enjoy:

According to the pictures tolue-14 if we agree jahesh-700 provide as much power as fj-33 then tolue-14 provide around 15% less .my guess is they didn't get the methalorgy quiet right yet.

People say about ToT on engines . I believe our need n a ToT on methalorgy is far more dire

It's really laughable. It's like trying to squeeze water out of a rock. Let them do it. LOL
Note, theses pronouncements are more for public consumption which are not without value.

The Ababil 2 UAV has proven its worth in Yemen. The Houthis have their own variant they call the Qasef 2k. I wonder how much each drone costs to build. The Armenians would have done much better with a few hundred of these.
