Iranian UAVs | News and Discussions

Both did damage. TB2 took out all the ADs in Nagorno-Karabakh, OSAs and Strelas. Both took out tanks, artilleries, infantries and other equipments. But Azeris are using IAI Harops like crazy, and this isn’t a simple suicide drone. It’s expensive.

Look how many TB2 were lost by Azeri. By some estimations well over 50. And that was with a poor air defense of Armenia and gross incompetence.

The drone itself is nothing special neither are Iran drones or any drone not in an elite LO class.

What is key is the stand off munitions they use and optics for targeting.

And the Harop drone is nothing special. Iran used a Harop like drone when it attacked Saudi Arabia.

Expensive =/= sophisticated

The TB2 is nothing special. The Turks merely saturate the air with them. That's all. In Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) they've used a combination of Harops and TB2s to overwhelm enemy defenses. The TB2 costs $5 million a piece and the Harop atleast $1 million. Not cheap. Especially the TB2, it's not really meant to be used the way the Turks use it. A drone at that price is not meant to be sent on suicide / saturation missions.

In Libya Turkey lost close to 20x TB2 drones. That's $100 million dollars right there and with the Lira's devaluation the replacements are going to cost much more. Now that the Canadians are refusing to sell the Turks the Optics, I wonder where they're going to turn to for a replacement ? Chinese ? Germans ? Swiss ? They certainly have lots of options.

The issue is that they're going to have to modify the drone when they insert a new camera into it. That's going to cost even more. Coincidentally the company that produces the TB2 drones is owned by one of Erdogan's son in laws. The more get destroyed, the more $$$ Erdogan's family accumulates.

Great idea. The only issue is having enough operators to swarm an enemy position. The LNA should look into purchasing something like this. I wonder how much it would cost for such a system. The only downside is that the UAV's probably don't have that much range.

could you please show us at least 2 TB2 wreckage in Nogorno Karabagh? then calculate the losses in USD$

Close to 20 x TB2s were shot down in Libya, just with Pantsirs operated by barely trained mercenaries. Armenians have much more than just Pantsirs when it comes to air defenses and they have fighter jets with BVR capabilities. More importantly Armenians are constantly being supplied from various sources.

When it comes to releasing footage of the remains/fragments of various weapons, the Azerbaijanis seem to be much more enthusiastic in this regard.

So enthusiastic that last time they released a picture of a downed Armenian drone, it actually turned out to be their own Harop drone. In the caption, the Azerbaijani politician proudly stated that the Azerbaijani air defenses had shot down an intruding Armenian drone that was about to "target civilians"

This wouldn't be the first time the Azerbaijani side were caught "red handed". Since the start of the conflict they have been caught faking and recycling evidence on more than one occasion. In one instance they showed off a captured tank as a trophy from the north of the enclave, when days earlier they had already shown off that same tank as a trophy from the south of the enclave.

The alleged Armenian missile strikes on the power plant and the supposed attempted strikes on the pipelines turned out to be fake. Even some of the pictures from the bombing of civilians in Ganja turned out to be pictures from Syria.

One good indication of potential Azerbaijani UAV losses is the fact that at the start of the conflict, the Azerbaijanis were releasing footage from dozens of airstrikes. They were so enthusiastic about releasing the footage that they even accidentally slipped in a footage that showed the strike just missing a tank.

In another video, it was obvious that the UAV strike had hit a wooden decoy. In any case there was lots of footage. Later this footage began to trickle down and they began recycling footage from previous days and then showing the same strike from various angles. Lately there is barely anything being released.

Aside from that, military analysts, using satellite imagery have determined that since the start of the conflict the Azerbaijani air capability has been steadily depleting.

no pic no evidence ,thank you
I don’t think any drone was shot down because simply Armenia doesn’t have Good ADs in Nagorno-Karabakh. They have some old OSAs which can’t do shit against these drones. Their good AD is placed inside armenia, I mean Tor systems and buk.

Like I said, Azerbaijan provided the evidence by themselves, recently posting pictures of their own downed Harop drone and trying to pass it off as an Armenian drone. So who shot it down ? The Armenians or the Azerbaijanis ?

If you're expecting either side to show off every single corpse, every bullet and all the fragments / remains of every destroyed weapon on the battlefield, then you're sadly mistaken. This is not a video game kid.

no pic no evidence ,thank you

the entire Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) region is 30-40km across from east to west. If you do the math, air defense systems could easily be launched from Armenian territory and hit their target.

The Azerbaijani's claim that they successfully destroyed an S-300 battery however they have not been able to show any evidence to validate this claim.

Keep in mind, they Azerbaijanis have shown off UAV footage of trucks being destroyed, but not the S-300 ? In my opinion it's pretty unlikely.

The OSA's were mostly destroyed in the initial phase when the Azerbaijani's saturated the air with a combination of loitering munitions (Harops), TB2s, other older drones and even unmanned AN-2 UAVs.

The Armenians have so far claimed well over Azeri 100 UAVs, loitering munitions, aircrafts, helicopters shot down.

Again the Azerbaijanis are very anxious to show off any evidence they can get their hands on as a trophy. So anxious that recently they showed off a downed Harop UAV and claimed it to be an Armenian UAV. So then the question is, who shot it down ? The Armenians or the Azerbaijanis themselves in their own airspace ?

The Azerbaijanis also accidentally released UAV footage showing the destruction of wooden Armenian decoys and UAV footage showing near misses on targets.

Aside from all that the Azerbaijanis have been caught FAKING evidence and recycling evidence on multiple occasions already.

At the start the Azerbaijanis were constantly releasing videos with dozens of UAV strikes, however it gradually slowed down to a trickle, along with recycled footage, reconnaissance footage which didn't even show the moment of impact and footage showing the same strike from various angles.

Now during the last few days we've barely seen anything. You can decide for yourself but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what's going on here.

Btw this website shows all verified claims of lost equipment based on photo / video evidence.

According to this website, the Azerbaijani side has lost 37% while the Armenians have lost the rest. However keep in mind that the Azerbaijani side seems to be alot more enthusiastic when it comes to showing off "evidence'. The website is not meant to be a definitive source on any conflict but rather it shows the viewer a glimpse of what is going on in the field.

These are the Armenian claims for your reference. The Azerbaijani army numbers 50,000, so even if half these claims are true, it's quite devastating for the Azerbaijanis.

did those TB2s give Turkey a win in any theater? NO. Turkey is still stuck with its proxy friends in SYria and Libya...and they love it, cuz its just free money to sit around..TUrkey cant keep paying them to do nothing forever...taking out Assad is history, taking out GNA and sirte is history..TURKEY IS STUCK...

That footage is questionable at best. Military analysts seem to disregard it as being insufficient. Again why do the Turks publish UAV footage of a basic military truck being destroyed but not the S-300 ? It doesn't add up. Also why would Armenians release CCTV footage of their own system being destroyed. Very strange and shady.

Like I stated earlier, in the beginning of the conflict the Azerbaijanis were publishing a ton of UAV footage. Infact they were so over anxious to release the footage that they even slipped in some near misses and strikes on wooden decoys by accident. After the first week, the footage began to trickle and now nothing.

You can believe what you want but it's not difficult to put two and two together.

Both Azeri and armenian sides published videos of s300P Radar and launcher destruction
if you don't believe in these evidences that's your problem

There is satellite imagery of an Azeri airfield with many drones than same imagery taken days into conflict showing at least 50+ losses.

It was documented by OSINT sources.

I have also posted pictures of losses throughout conflict.

Just do basic research.
