Iranian official - "We still fund Hamas, because fighting Israel is our policy"

How those so called Muslim lands became Muslim? yep, through conquer and occupation.

Yep, I agree. I remind muslims when they mention the crusades.

But full marks to Iran, the only country with the b*lls to stand up to the US/ Israel mafia.

I'm not fond of Assad myself, but the alternatives are no better than Assad. If Assad falls then Syria will be dismembered and put under Zionist control.
Alternatives are always there. Problem is that Assad does not wants to step-down.

Assad will be responsible for dismemberment of Syria, if it happens.

Israel provided india with laser guided bombs on an emergency basis during Kargil, those same bombs killed our soldiers and lost us valuable territory we gained with the blood of our troops.
Why did Pakistani pilots participate in Israeli-Arab conflicts earlier?

Moreover, we do not even recognize the existence of Israel.

My friend, we should be realistic in our perceptions.

Secondly, Israel considers India its #2 Ally (after America), whereas China and israel don't share any such relations. And the only reason why india called off the attacks on Pakistan's nuclear sites was because they feared the Pakistani retaliation, the Israelis on the other hand wanted to press on with the attacks.
India is a huge market. Who wouldn't want to be in its good books?

Israel and China enjoy a close diplomatic relationship.

Those terrorist 'scientists' were taken out over one specific issue and because of the dozens of threats Iran made against Israel.

You aren't even Arabs, yet for some reason think it's your job to murder Israeli civilians on behalf of some Arabs you don't even share a border with and who aren't even Shias.

By god if I was leader of Israel, your country would be a nuclear wasteland by now.

May I ask what are these "alternatives"?

Assad will be responsible for dismemberment of Syria, if it happens.
If that was the case than Syria would have been dismembered a long time ago before the so called "Arab Spring".

Because Israel is an enemy state occupying Muslim land.

Moreover, we do not even recognize the existence of Israel.
And?? Does that stop them from posing a threat to our interests??

1). Israel considers India an Ally, NOT China.

2). China also has trade relations with India, that doesn't mean it considers India an Ally and supplies it weapons to kill Pakistani soldiers.

I don't know why it causes you heartburn if Iran is standing up to Israel. I say all the more power to Iran in its struggle again Zionism and its pawns.

Colonel Riad Mousa al-Asaad is an example. He have support within the country and abroad. Unfortunately for him, several assassination attempts have left him with a permanent physical disability (i.e. loss of a leg). At present, he is not just under threat from the Syrian leadership, but also from Russia. It seems like his luck his running out.

---

Syrian civil war have overshadowed political opponents of Bashar al-Assad; some have perished during clashes. Those, who are still alive, will become visible under following (potential) outcomes:

1. When Assad will be willing to step-down
2. ISIS is routed from the country

But the problem is that Assad doesn't wants to step-down and desires elimination of his major political opponents (no ifs and buts). He is playing his cards well; as long as his political opponents remain overshadowed by the civil war, he will give the impression to the world at large that only he can lead the nation, while he and his allies continue to hunt for his political opponents and silence them forever. He is actually a beneficiary of the civil war. ISIS is actually making it easier for him to carry out his agenda. Extremely clever of him! but he is forgetting a fact that he is not all-powerful and will not live forever.

It seems like Assad haven't learned any lesson from the fates of Mullah Omar, Muammar Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein. He is alive because President Barack Obama have been lenient on him; ISIS discouraged Obama from acting against him. Otherwise, ISIS would have replaced his regime as the dominant political force in the country and US would have been blamed for supporting ISIS in this endeavor.

However, in spite of Russian and Iranian assistance, Assad will have to step-down eventually or somebody else will forcibly remove him/assassinate him one day (mark my words). Assad might win the war with Russian support but he will be politically isolated, and NATO and GCC states will not tolerate his presence for long. Russia might save him from assassination but it is also coming to terms with the prospects of Assad stepping-down in the near future (unofficially at the moment).

In short, Assad (and his family members) have no future in Syria. He is only delaying the inevitable.

Q: If something happens to Nawaz Sharif, you think that PML(N) won't be able to find a Prime Minister for the country?

Every country have alternatives for leadership; they sometimes need the right circumstances to gain power. Common sense, my friend.

If that was the case than Syria would have been dismembered a long time ago before the so called "Arab Spring".
Syria did not disintegrate because NATO didn't want it to.

Because Israel is an enemy state occupying Muslim land.
There is more to this story then your perceptions.

As a Pakistani, I was also typically led to believe that Israel is forcibly occupying Muslim lands and does not have the right to exist. However, as I started my career in research, I came to know that the modern state of Israel was actually founded on the lands (legally) purchased from the Arabs before WW-II. However, when the state of Israel was made official, Arabs attacked it under the pretext and expectations that Jews will be routed from this land; unfortunately for them, Jews were highly motivated and battle-hardened this time, and defeated the Arabs during this war, capturing new territories from them in the process (including Jerusalem). But Arabs were not satisfied with the outcome and continued to conspire against Israel that led to new wars among them and Israel gaining more ground in each. UN attempted to address this matter during 1940s but to no avail.

Q: Was Arab and Pakistani intervention helpful to the supposedly oppressed Palestinians?

At present, several Arab states have come to terms with their mistakes in the past and acknowledge the fact that Israel is not going anywhere and part of the new reality.

The sooner we (i.e. Pakistani) come to terms with the ground realities of the Middle East, the better it will be for us in the long run.

IMO, their is a solution for the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict; merge them into a single nation where both Muslims and Jews can live together in peace and enjoy equal rights. For this to happen, somebody has to reason with the Hamas (a hard-line Palestinian political movement which does not recognizes the existence of Israel and desires its elimination).

And?? Does that stop them from posing a threat to our interests??
You dodged an important revelation. Pakistani pilots should not have participated in the Arab-Israeli conflicts. This was not our war.

Pakistan is not a thakedar of Muslim-related issues worldwide.

Israel and China have never fought a war and neither they intend to do so. The dynamics of Sino-Indian relationship and Sino-Israeli relationship are vastly different.

In-fact, China is willing to shed enmity with India under the right circumstances. Not long ago, China was willing to settle all issues with India (as an alternative proposal) to deter Indo-US nuclear deal but India went with the nuclear deal. India have a strong economy and potential to become one of the leading investment hubs for the foreigners; a strategic partnership with US is a welcome development for them as long as they can afford rivalry with the neighboring China on military terms.

I don't know why it causes you heartburn if Iran is standing up to Israel. I say all the more power to Iran in its struggle again Zionism and its pawns.
Iranian hypocrisy causes me heartburn, not its official stance for the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Iran is meddling in the affairs of several states in the Middle East and will do so in Pakistan as well if it gets the opportunity to do so.

Iran also have good relationship with India, which is ironic to the say the least. India is oppressing Kashmiri people, right? Morals, my...

Iranian actions are interests-driven, not morally-driven. This is true for most nations. The sooner you realize this fact, the better.

What do you think will happen if Assad steps down? Do you think the warring parties will put down their weapons and have a peaceful election?

At present, it is important to rout ISIS from Syria.

However, it is also important to discourage Bashar al-Assad from assassinating his political opponents.

If the ISIS is routed from Syria, effort shall be made to push for a peace-accord between the Syrian regime and FSA / legitimate Syrian opposition and Assad to facilitate a peaceful political transition in the country. UN shall take the responsibility of monitoring this political transition since several countries have stakes in the Syrian political affairs. When a suitable candidate is found and a new government is formed, Assad should step down to face trails.

The above is difficult but attainable under the right circumstances.

I agree but opposition and the regional countries that support them are not interested in that. From day 1, their objective has been, let Assad be removed and them we will figure something out. Which Iran, since 2011, has warned against because we said it will create a vacuum. Iran and Russia both supported talks, a process for elections, with international observers. Opposition hasn't been interested.

FSA / Legitimate Syrian opposition movement is ready for a peaceful settlement of this matter. Unfortunately for it, militant factions like Al-Qaeda and ISIS have overshadowed them and hijacked their mandate. This is why it is important to rout such factions from the country and ensure protection of Syrian opposition.

Russia and Iran can push NATO for a long-term settlement of the Syrian crises.

You make a lot of good points and I understand where you are coming from. Like I said, I'm no fan of Assad and I do believe he should be held to account for the war crimes he did perpetrate. But I feel the opposition is very weak to dictate any political terms for Assad's removal at this point. Militarily, Assad remains the only potent threat to Israel, while the opposition is not a single unified group but rather scattered insurgencies not only fighting Assad but also fighting each other which makes them easy targets for Israel or easy pawns depending on how far these rebel groups are willing to go to bring down Assad (and each other).

Yes, I agree, Iran has played its part in causing instability in the Muslim world, alongside Saudi Arabia and its allies, but if Iran falls or bows to Zionism, guess who the next target will be?? Pakistan. The Zionists will not tolerate any Muslim country with nuclear weapons and advanced missile program.

Right now in the Muslim world only two countries have advanced missile and nuclear programs: Iran and Pakistan (though the Iranians haven't produced any nuclear weapons).

Zionism goal is to neutralize both countries before Israel can wage an actual war on all of its Arab neighbors.

Looks like the mullahs still wants to isolate and set their country backward by several decades. They are not content with the fact that they are already among the poorest country in the world despite their vast oil , gas and other natural resources. :disagree:
Let them keep it up with their empty radical rhetoric, obama will soon be leaving office, we all know Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have voiced their opposition and concern over the sanction relief on Iran. The mullah should give them even more reason to reinstate the sanctions. Good luck with that. :bounce:
