‘Fateh’ submarine to join Navy in 'coming days': Cmdr. Khanzadi

Commander of Iranian َArmy Navy Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi made the remark in an inaugration cermeony of a Navy hospital in Tehran on Wednsday.

“The medium-class Fateh submarine will join the Army’s naval fleet in the coming days,” he said.

Khanzadi added that the ceremony would be attended by the Iranian president Hasasn Rouhani.

He then hailed the many achievments made in various fields of air defense, surface equipment and submarines.

'Fateh' is an Iranian designed class of semi-heavy submarines, equipped with state-of-the-art weaponry such as torpedoes and naval mines. It can operate more than 200 meters below the sea surface for near five weeks, according to Navy officials.

Back in November, two Ghadir-class submarines joined the fleet of the Iranian Navy.

Honestly wouldn't the heavy machine gun block the crews sight ? Other than that it looks cool LOL but yeah it might just be on that miniature display model in the picture. When it comes to the real deal I highly doubt that it would be mounted like that since it seems like it would block the view unless it was setup in a way so it could fold away or retract when necessary ? Well there's only one way to find out for sure, let's wait & see.

So disappointing. Iran went through all that work to get it’s hands on one of the world’s fastest speedboats. Including a last minute attempt by US to intercept the cargo.

All for what? To put a heavy machine gun on it and some unguided small rockets?

I wonder if this will be the only Fateh submarine or if Iran will build more. I think a minimum of 7-10 are needed to supplement the Ghadir’s in PG and Arabian Sea.

It has 6 torpedo, 4 in the launching pad and 2 in the reserve.

Well,ofcourse it has horizontal torpedo luncbers and these can be used to fire cruise missiles also..most subs actually use torpedo tubes to fire missiles...I don't.know.how you miss 4 533mm torpedo tubes...they are placed at exactly same place you tag....just can't see it on that picture...if you take a look at video or older picture you will see tubes...clearly...I'm not sure does it has vertical lunchers or not but it can fire cruise missiles from torpedo tubes
