i remember there was another ship being built by another organization along side Sahand. It had a different structure design but had similar length. Does anyone know what was the name or what is its status?

Shiraz. It's an Intel ship based on the Mowj hull. There's still no equipment on it and we don't know the status of the internals.

Yes,unfortunately the designers tendency seems to be toward the very conservative side with only pretty basic improvements,externally at least.Its a shame that they hadnt gone for a sold mast/tower that was integrated with the bridge,as this not only would`ve improved its radar signature but it also would`ve gained them some room amidships that could`ve potentially been used for a vls for carrying a much larger loadout of antiship weapons or better yet a mixture of antiship and land attack weapons.
Hopefully it will at least have a ciws[fingers crossed]
