In his quest to stay in power he might decide that having Iran/HZ join the war would be in his best interest (by extending the conflict) rather than trying to keep them out of it and risk the conflict ending soon.

If the conflict ends soon than the public will turn from patriots to wanting to hold accountability for this even occurring.

Cash delivered by hand or gold should have been the only acceptable method. Now US will likely award this money to Israel for compensation or use it as one huge bargaining chip.
