Iranian army launches large-scale military drills in south

Iranian army began massive war games code-named “Muhammad Rasoulallah” this morning in the country’s southern and southeastern regions as well as the Sea of Oman, Fars news agency reported.

The deputy commander of the Iranian army, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, earlier said that that the ground and air forces as well as navy will join the two-day exercises.

The country’s armed forces over the past several years have conducted several major military drills to enhance their defense capabilities and test military tactics.

Iran says that its defense power is driven by deterrence and poses no threat to any other country.

What I can never understand is why the tanks don't have camouflage which let them blend with the natural terrain they are in. In the standard paints they can be picked out by high resolution satellite and plane cameras. Shoving LCDs on them should be an easy matter , a few militaries have already done it. With cameras sending the background images to the LCDs.

TEHRAN, Jan. 22 (MNA) – Iran's Army is holding large-scale joint military exercises codenamed 'Muhammad Rasoulallah' along the Makran coastal strip in the country's southern and southeastern regions.
The fifth of its kind, the two-day military drills, code-named 'Muhammad Rasoulallah' (Muhammad, the Messenger of God), has kicked off on Monday along the Makran coastal strip with an aim to boost skills, defense readiness, and morale of army personnel, as well as to exchange experiences, evaluate training tactics and coordinate activities of army-affiliated staff.

The joint drills include participation of Army's naval, ground and air forces as well as Air Defense units, and cover an area of 3 million square kilometers in the country's southern and southeastern regions, the Makran coastal strip and the shores of the Sea of Oman.

Iranian planes warned off two "coalition vessels" during military drill - Tasnim news

LONDON (Reuters) - Iranian warplanes warned off two “coalition vessels” during military drill in waters off the country’s southeast, an Iranian general was quoted as saying by Tasnim news agency on Monday.

“This morning and in the early hours of the military drill, two coalition vessels approached the area to monitor Iranian naval forces. Iranian drones identified the vessels, then Iranian planes flew over them and gave them a warning. The vessels left the area,” said Rear Admiral Mahmoud Mousavi, the spokesperson for the drills.

useful if they attach it to a radar and made it automatic, better they can attach some Mithaq-2 to the system to use against helicopters or more advanced drones and put all of them on a Car like Sarir APC Or Toosan or make some turret to protect bases

at best it can be called some practical joke

when we produce scan-eagle why waste resources for this one ?

This is the artesh, everything they do is kind of a practical joke. I hate to say it but its true. They can't do anything properly. Artesh has made zero progress at all, they look just like they did in the 80s with the same equipment. ZERO PROGRESS IN 40 years! Sepah makes them look like children. Its really disappointing really. All of Iran's best systems and source of military pride comes from sepahs equipment.

What do you expect with a budget of $2 billion? This is enough to give the troops new clothes when they tear and food when they're hungry, not much else. Forget about innovation and mass production when you're actively undermined.

This is the national military, they should be pushing for more money & pressuring, this is an army, not a baby daycare. Artesh commanders clearly don't give a shit about the state of the artesh.
