Iran unveils new Kowsar advanced jet trainer

.
The rear portion of plane is a bit , disappointing to be honest
I was expecting Iran to be able to develop something better

The rear tail feels bit like the glider Unit's tail

Impressive front part

We do not exaggerate.
I thought of electronic systems, but perhaps an M-39 20mm cannon and its ammunition depot (already in use in the F-5 and Saeghe) could be an option.

But I believe that an eventual cannon pod can be effectively installed ventrally, with the ammunition depot that could be placed in the free space under the seat raised rear piloting.
such as, for example, the K-8 Chinese

Just follow up on my early comment
The tail was rather super thin and the engines stacked up right to rear just was wondering if all that engine heat (exhaust) will not eventually continuously hit the tail parts and cause wear and tear in line run

We know continuous heat weakens certain metals

I think that any problem has been taken into account by the designers of the Taiwanese ADIC in collaboration with Northrop to build the AT-3

Actually , I don't understand the reason behind of designing it .... 10 years ago we had shafagh , if they has enough budget , they could redesign it and put two j85 ( instead of planed rd 33 ) in it ....

Perhaps Iran thought it was smart to train new pilots first on a cheaper platform which might be more easily constructed in lesser time

Make sense from basic training prespective why put hours on a battle ready platform when you can do basic training on a cheaper price platform (trainer)

The trainer should be able to carry light Air to Ground Rockets

This is advanced?! This looks geriatric, and infirm. Nothing about this plane exhibits anything resembling advanced or modern.

Do you know what an advanced trainer is?

This is a "basic trainer", because it is small, slow, single piston powered prop trainer.

Kowsar-88 is an advanced trainer because you would fly it at advanced stages of pilot training, because it is bigger, faster, and powered by twin jet engines.

Unless... unless... you actually meant that it doesn't look advanced because it doesn't have any paint.

By your logic the Su-27 isn't advanced or modern either, because this one doesn't have any paint.
