Featured Iran unveils 'Gaza' UAV

This many years after Shahrud-129 they unveil a heavier version with different engine?

What was point of Fotros then? Gaza is nothing more than a Fotros 2.0 EO tech is still disappointing and I don’t see SAR integration.

It’s a bigger S-129 that can carry heavier payloads. Only reason EO was even upgraded is due to high operation ceiling you need more capable EO for accurate targeting.

Also what is the point of this drone? Is Iran hunting down rag tag terrorists?

In a war zone against a high tech adversary (Israel, Saudi Arabia, US etc) this drone has a worse survivability than the so-called elite Global Hawk which actually had an anti air defense system on board.

Again Iran should be focusing on supersonic high altitude bomber UAVs that can survive in competitive airspace for 21st century conflict. Iran is not the US bombing banana countries and rag tag terrorists from 10KM in the air.

I don’t see this drone seeing as much action when S-129 can meet Iran’s current needs and cheaper operation. This is exactly what doomed Fotros (besides the engine that is).

This drone would have been great for Syrian theater 5 years ago when Syria was desperate for 24/7 air power. Now? Not so much.

As I said in the other UAV thread, this is largely for uncontested air space like Syria . I agree this is useless against a modern opponent just like most drones this size. Nevertheless, it’s a tool to have and maybe helpful in niche areas against a lesser capable opponent (Azerbaijan).

Iran spend a lot more money in shiite people like Hizbollah than Palestinian people.

Qatar is the true daddy of Palestinian fighters. Everytime Hamas meet a Qatari intelligence high rank, they start to launch rockets few time later .

And Qatar is just a USA puppet, Hamas was quiet along Trump administration, because they obbey Qatar orders, and Qatar obbey USA orders.

USA wants "two states" solution, a way to provocate Israel to kill more civilian people.
USA need mayhem and destruction in Middle East as cheap oil is running out, in order to decrease oil internal conssumption of Middle East oil exporters countries.

USA is the mother of all abominations of the Earth.
Qatar is useless as it is a American puppet itself. They usually play the role of ceasefire or reconstruction efforts etc

Sit down and listen to Palestinian officials

This isn't a cruise missile? Looks like an air intake?
I mean technically cruise missiles can reach very small size below 100kg in some cases.

Problem is UAVs lack the speed needed for glide weapons to achieve full range, and either rocket or turbojet propulsion is needed.

Whose to say, such a situation will not happen again in the future. I don't see the issue here, I don't think they would need to mass produce this on a large scale, but having some highly capable drones for special situations has it's uses.

I don't know how you expect Iran to just show up with a supersonic drone when it didn't even have the capability for a turboprop drone until now. These ideas take time to implement, and we can clearly see progress on developing engines for drones with this turboprop one, and Jahesh-700. Hopefully they will continue to advance into that capability. You can't operate drones easily in airspaces without air superiority. Your statement on why build a drone to bomb ragtag militias can apply to virtually all drones in most nations inventories including Iran's. That doesn't mean they shouldn't be built to fulfill certain roles properly. I for one, am glad to see a turboprop engine as my main takeaway from this, I don't really care much for the rest of the drone, but use of standoff weapons instead of tiny sadid bombs has it's benefits. .

When Israeli kill a dozen of Palestinian children, Hamas dont give a sh*t.

When Israel bomb AlJazeera (Qatari mass media) office in Gaza, Hamas promise revenge   .

I dont know exactly how works things between Qatar chiefs and Hamas slaves, I think Hamas is not absolutely proudful of be used as puppet by Qatar money, and they dont talk so much about that.

But you can see the news history, when a chief of Qatari intelligence meets Hamas, Hamas launch rockets, like in 2014.

I dont know if you are a true Iranian, or just a Hasbara-tr*ll or American paid tr*ll, but you dont know a sh*t about your own country. I think half of "Iranians" of this forum are just Hasbara tr*lls. What a plague.

Iran has nothing to do with suni Gaza. But USA wants a first strike of Israel to Iran, since 2011/2012 Hormuz tensions.

Go to hell USA!

Don't go full unwise my mann. Just because you send intel on rockets doesn't make you a deterence the real reasons Israel abandoned is offensive and won't escalate is do to pressure folks like Turkey, Pakistan, Qatar, Egypt etc etc applied. If escalation would have continued it would have dragged everyone in..

By the way just because you don't have very smart diplomatic planning and long term effective strategic planning doesn't make them puppets in fact there are no such thing in the mid-east it is a region full of carnivore wolves and only interests don't confuse that with something else. Just because your strategic planning is not sound doesn't mean others are worse then you.. Even Haniyah is there in Qatar and they will be the once paying Hamas salaries but he can't thank them for political reasons and they don't want that either.. They are playing the intelligent diplomatic game and it is to complex for the likes of you to understand. Long term strategic planning is not Iran's speciality but a strange restriant patience is? what you gotta do is switch between these two.. You need to look first at the mirror correct your affairs..

This is too funny. Iran and their allies have won every conflict they entered in the Middle East, all while astutely avoiding a direct war with the US that would likely have set them back 20-30 years. If Iran had one job it would’ve been to avoid war and they did it when the world laughed at their fake weapons they paraded on purpose ( fighter jet with flawed design, s300 made out of barrels etc) when in reality they secretly advanced their nuclear program and built one of the best BM and UAV force.

Yeah sure they’re poor strategic planners lol 😂

It was not the US that crossed you but a mosquito breached the red-line and walked scott free over 100k times. That is not strategic planning but bewilderment

Those oil barrels turned out to be a real project which called Bavar-373

And same will be happen for the other...
There was no oil barrel, for God sake. The unit shown in that parade was a real S-300 system, but from other versions (PMU-1/2 for stealth targets) Iran had obtained earlier. We discussed this point many times in the past in this forum. The only issue was that the Missile canisters were loaded on Babr-400 truck trailers, and the reason was not clear completely (most likely they were from a fixed air defense unit).

People used to call them oil barrels... this is why!

yes you are right the last superpower which you brought them not only 20-30 years back but 200-300 years was taliban......which war are you talking about....you were so lucky that survive from corona virus let alone starting new war......

I also see these big Drones in different specialised roles and then working together as a singular unit. For example:

(1) One drone is equipped only with larger Radar.
(2) One drone is equipped with only Electronics
(3) One drone is equipped with only long range weapons.
(4) One drone is equipped with only short range weapons from attacking cruise missiles from above in the air.

Such drones could stay in the air for a very long period of time and thus provide Iran with Radar capability high in the air. Sure they are not a replacement for AWACS, but till Iran is able to make it's own AWACS, still this could be an option.
