Realizing the potential of the strategic Chabahar Port and International North-South Transport Corridor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi “conveyed India’s commitment to work with Iran on the above said projects for the direct access to the Central Asian market .

Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif visited India and met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed expansion of bilateral trade ties after the lifting of sanctions. Praising India’s friendship in difficult times, Zarif said “ Iran considered India its “strategic partner” and India has been a friend of Iran in difficult times, and we don’t forget that.”

Meanwhile, Modi “conveyed India’s commitment to work with Iran for development of the Chabahar Port that would have far reaching benefit, not only for the people of India and Iran, but also for Afghanistan and the entire Central Asia region.”

To give a tough challenge to China’s presence in energy and infrastructural development projects in the five Central Asian Republics of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, Modi paid a visit to central Asian republics to boost trade ties



While Iran is engaged in intensive diplomacy to bring peace in the Middle East by discussing fresh peace plan for Syria with Beirut and Moscow while also asking Afghanistan, India and Pakistan to cooperate to fight against Daesh or ISIS threat..
