just one question, is there any particular reason why a monkey was chosen? Russians had sent a dog, certainly there was some logic behind that, may be all animals may not react the same way to weightlessness, or the high gravity pull during the launch, in any case, what was the scientific reason behind launching a monkey into space, why not other animals?

Simple answer. The Iranians wanted to watch Hanuman fly again :D

According to this video diameter of the rocket is about 70 cm. I.e. its Fateh-110 based. For comparison Safir/Shahab-3 has 125 cm diameter. Diameter of NK Unha is 220 cm.

another fail :

Fateh-110 >>> diameter : 0.61m

Unha-3 >>> diameter : 2.4m

well , It was obvious that Pishgam rocket is based on Fateh 110 missile ... and its diameter is between 0.60 -.65 meter ...

Is there actual evidence Iranians did this? Not that it is a big achievement.
