QUETTA: Iran reopened the trade gate on the Taftan border on Sunday after a three-month closure.
Iranian authorities have informed Pakistan about their decision to reopen the gate, Chagai Deputy Commissioner Dr Tufail Baloch said, adding that trade activities between the two countries had resumed.
Iran had closed the gate on Sept 22 after a terrorist attack on an Iran-bound bus carrying Hazara community pilgrims.
The attack had left 26 people dead and several others injured. Pakistani officials held several rounds of talks with Iranian authorities for reopening of the trade gate and the closure caused a huge loss to businessmen.
The gate had earlier been closed for several months after a suicide attack in Zahidan.
