Old habits die hard!
Good luck to youIts very much doable. At least two pipelines of similar length are already operating.
OT : SAGE pipeline is most obvious choice for a Gas pipeline for us. It will cost us ~$6-7 Bill. But will avoid all "contentious" issues in foreseeable future.
My friend, you should conclude is false. My native place has heavy Naxalite presence and you can't do anything over there w/o paying a levy to them. Sometime back a construction company won the contract for roads near my village, that company refused to pay levy which was ~10% of net profit. Next day all their heavy equipment was burnt to ground. Loss to the company in excess of ~25 Million USD. Till date no other company has bid for a project near my village.
There is a huge CRPF camp with close to 20,000 soldiers, armored vehicles, and helo support and daily they comb the jungles nearby for Naxalites, sometimes they catch them but most times they don't as these Naxalites are sort of Robin Hood Figures and leave by daylight in the same villages as normal civilians.
Point being Naxalite belt is not suitable for industry and business. Rest of India is
Well this makes a pleasant change. At least you accept that you have a Naxalite problem. Now looking at Pakistan the only reason we have trouble in Balochistan is the incompetance of our government.
There are 4 million Baloch living a huge high plateaux desert which is far easier to regulate then the jungles of East India which makes idea guerilla territory.
The biggest gas fields in Pakistan are on ground zero of the troubles yet gas is still flowing. That itself underlies what I am saying. The coastel Makran region is even thinner in population. With new roads built law and order becomes easier to enforce. This is not the thread for it but large parts of Balochistan were left with no law and order by design from British era days.
"Balochistan Police is responsible for the law and order situation in mostly urban areas only, which are called A areas. This division has been in place, in various forms, since the time of the British Raj. Balochistan's rural areas, called B areas, are policed by the Balochistan Levies. The Frontier Corps operates in both areas. This division is seen as a severe handicap by the police as criminals based outside their limited area of jurisdiction can easily plan attacks and run away."

Can you imagine another country doing this? Just leaving huge swathes of your terriotory as free for all? This space has been filled by drug smugglers, bandits, vagabonds and other riff raff. So fundamentally this is simple failure of law and order or neglect.
That is why in other threads when Pak members start dreaming about buying the next frigate for the navy I oppose that. Even 5 extra frigates are not going to make any differance to Pakistan unless we are thinking of invading Somalia.
Instead we need to downsize the army and build up interior security forces/police and fill these empty spaces in our country. We already left the FATA open and you know who set up home there. This space in Balochistan is now used by drug gangs who also expanded their racket by including Iranian oil from across the border.
So brazen are these gangs that Iran has had to build a wall to control them and they have lost border guards. I think now Pakwith CPEC and Gwadar in scope are building roads and laying law and order infrastructure. In doing so most of Balochistan will become A areas.
As regards SAGE best of luck. I think what we need to do asap is get IP going. That should be as simple as laying some plumbing as the Iranian's have already laid the pipe right upto the border.
I somehow expect our government to mess this up even. The problem with our people ( the government after all is reflection of people ) is they advocate the interests of foreigners. Pakistan is like a orphan.
I mean I know the IP could not be built because of no foreign funding on account of US/Saudi pressure. However I would preferred if Pakistan had shown some galls and frozen other projects inside the country. Using the Bhutto phrase "we will build the pipeline or eat grass" and got that damn pipe completed at least two years ago.
That way we would not be suffering the crippling energy shortages which is wrecking the economy.
like who ?Various right wing terrorists in India enjoy political patronage
like who ?
please, go right ahead, enough of this gets discussed around here anyway.I don't want to wash our dirty laundry at PDF but having said this if you still want me to name names, I will do that

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Director General of National Iranian Gas Export Company Alireza Kameli said the country is ready to sign an agreement with a major Indian company for the export of Iran's natural gas to the Subcontinent.
After India left the IP Gas Pipeline project, a consortium of some Indian companies headed by South Asia Gas Enterprise Pvt. Ltd. (SAGE) expressed willingness to import Iran's natural gas, Kameli told SHANA on Saturday.
He went on to say that the company is waiting for the termination of anti-Iran sanctions to fund the construction of a 3000 km underwater (deep-sea) pipeline.
The history of border conflicts between India and Pakistan made the Indian side opt for using a totally independent pipeline for importing gas from Iran, Kameli added.
For years there has been talk of an India-Iran-Oman energy triangle, whereby an under-sea natural gas pipeline would connect Oman and India. As India's economy grows, demand for gas will continue to exceed supply from domestic sources and imported gas will play an important role in bridging the demand-supply gap in the market.
At first, India was supposed to import gas from Iran via a land pipeline that is to carry gas to Pakistan, but it backed out of the project in 2007, citing security concerns in Pakistani territory. After that, Iran and Pakistan decided to go it alone.
